A hard exterior of gross sexual harassment and toxic masculinity surrounds a center that is just a wholesome portrayal of an office friendship with a decent amount of awkward romance.
The chemistry between Takeda and Takizawa is a great model of a healthy friendship between men and women in the workplace. Unfortunately to enjoy that, one has to endure the contrasting work relationships of various creeps and Takizawa.
Furthermore it does little more than slap these harassers on the wrist with their pointed grossness. The best situations engaging with this are between Takizawa and her female junior employee about what pigs they are and that they have
...
every reason to bluntly call them disgusting and avoid them.
Takeda could stand to grow a spine and more aggressively tell these people off. It's not unprecedented in the comic, as he has done so to one off characters outside the work place.
Fortunately the topic of female bodies and cishet male attraction to them is not completely without taste or to pander.
Takeda's honesty with himself that he finds his boss's conventionally beautiful body to be attractive while not having it impact his ability to treat her with dignity and respect is a healthy and mature way to compose himself.
Additionally Takizawa offers her own thoughts on her body, the impracticality of having a large bust, often discussing body concerns with her previously mentioned woman subordinate.
Ultimately this very sweet story would do well to leave behind the tired, unsettling and predatory characters and their crass dialogue in the dust to allow the tender friendship that I hope to see blossom into a tender relationship shine through. There is something here to like, but you have to wade through some seriously heinous shit to find it.
