"Ballroom e Youkoso" and "Baby Steps" both have very likable, hard-working protagonists that pick up a sport that they know nothing about, and manage to get better through diligence, patience, and practice. The protagonists both have sincere and thoughtful inner voice narration, highlighting their shortcomings as well as their determination. It is very easy to root for the main character because of their positive qualities, but they are still easy to empathize with because of their insecurities and sincerity.
