Animation and images: Awful. Characters look like something a 14 year old drew in grade school. Perspective is just insane. Felt ill at moments. Truly the worst animation ive seen in an anime ever and ive been watching anime for 25 years. A scene where the characters are battleing and falling/flying at the same time is just chaos and i did not at all know what was going on or where the characters were in relation to each other.
Music: Fun and good but anti-immersive and feels out of place
Story: Different from season one but i enjoy following it though it is a bit slow.

I've watched 8 episodes before writing this review and i have to say im disappointed.
I watched every episode of the first season with awe and excitement. Grand visuals, beatiful storytelling and most episodes triggered good emotional responses. In this season i felt more disappointment for every episode i watched. I was not expecting a slow school life anime with elements of Mahoutsukai no Yome. I do not feel any interest in the new characters introduced and it is hard to follow and remember what they are about even if it was just in the episode from last week. Its started out ok. Its in chinese and the art is pretty good, maybe a bit out dated compared to what im used to. The sound is horrific. Voice balance in almost none existant and in environments where you litterally expect wind in the leaves or city noices there are none and it feels very off.
I would recommend anyone watching anime to watch this first episode and see that chinese anime is not quite there yet. But it is improving. I also like the summoner story but it feels a little to much Shaman King. Its refreshing to feel the culture difference through the anime ... |
