To me, the first episode was gripping and I found that it presented interesting themes. Unfortunately, that was short-lived and my enjoyment of the anime decreased.

I am not a self-proclaimed anime expert, nor am I an artist, hence I found the art and audio satisfactory but I have no further opinion.

This brings me to the storyline, or whatever this anime followed. It is impossible to review this anime without mentioning all of the deaths. To try to be without spoilers: there is a lot of death in this anime, most of the deaths being unnecessary in my opinion. The first couple of deaths were ... characters that had been built up, thus the deaths were emotional, however as the series progressed, this emotional build-up diminished. Main characters were just killed with almost no explanation, apparently just as a means to speed up the storyline or something. Nonetheless, there were some good parts to this anime but for the most part it felt rushed towards the end, and I felt extremely disappointed with the ending.

Overall I felt this anime was rather disappointing an I would not recommend it. On the other hand, I have heard about quite a bit of praise for the manga; so I would probably suggest that for anyone desperate to see what this was about.
