I think this series has surpassed reviews, and become a culture.
The scenery, music, art, characters, sound effects, lessons, humility, determination, understanding, compassion, and love that went into this show is matched by none and rivaled by few.
I was reluctant to start it when it first came out, 'oh its just another mindless monster killer show'.
Boy was I wrong.
Everything about this show is spectacular. Its emotional, its lays bare the characters emotions and drive for the audience to take as they will. I am just writing what I think will summarize this show, but in reality its beyond reviews and acceptance, its an icon.

To sum it up: I tried to finish it, but for every chapter from 30-odd on, I felt like I was forcing myself to read it. By the time I hit 50-something I was done. Super repetitive, uninspiring characters, and the continuity is horrible. One page she wont even look at him, the next he is literally photographing her naked, I did not enjoy this manga at all, but had to give it points for its art style. That's about the only thing this manga has going for it, there are millions of better stories, characters, and buildups out there. Feb 27, 2019

This is not your typical romance show.
I have no affinity for Lesbian romance stories, and am a straight guy myself, but this show truly made me wish it never ends. The animation, sounds, dialogue, charecters, plot, progression, everything is so beautiful and well timed. I know that in my profile I rate a lot of things really high, but to make it simple if I had to choose just 1 anime to watch for the rest of my life it would be this. I have watched it 3 times over already and I still get special fuzzy feelings and just overal happiness watching Yuu and Koito ... |
