91 Days isn't set in space, and Angelo's not exactly a bounty hunter, but Angelo and Spike share a similar suave charm. Both know their way around a gunfight and a fistfight. And each of them has waited years to settle some scores. There's a lot of bloodshed and clever dialogue in both, and the music, while not quite as good as Cowboy Bebop (but how could it be?) is still pretty good. 91 Days isn't nearly as well-animated as Cowboy Bebop either, but both have a realistic style likely to appeal to Western audiences.

If you need another slickly stylized and beautifully animated post-apocalyptic horror action anime from the same director, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is a great choice. Both stories' heroes face incredible odds against powerful enemies and constant threats. One big difference: Shinjuku has a more 80s-era colorful art style and its hero is hero is trying to save not only a young woman but also the world.

If you liked one, you owe it to yourself to watch the other. Both films deftly blend horror and action elements with slick, highly detailed animation, fast pacing, and clever dialogue. The plots and characters are, likewise, quite similar. Perhaps the biggest difference is the more fleshed out antagonist and somewhat more thought-provoking plot of Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust.
