Witch Hunter Robin is one of those animes that, while I see many of its faults, I can't help but enjoy it. The plot and character development are interesting and draw you in, allowing you to overcome the somewhat less enticing art/ animation style.

The anime is somewhat of a noir/ supernatural, though it is definitely more toned down than others. I'd say, for me, this is a very much character-driven story. Robin, the main character, is an interesting lead shrouded in mystery. She is not the typical weak main character, but she has plenty of room for growth. The side characters are interesting ... though some could have definitely been more developed! In general, the characters remain mysterious and yet likeable enough to build the story.

The art style and animation are not the best but they get the job done, and the character design for each of the characters is unique and adds to the story. While the animation is a bit dated, it does not distract from the story at hand.

Overall, if you enjoy supernatural action, badass female leads and some mystery, check out Witch Hunter Robin!

If you are like me and just avoid the anime comedy in general due to the mass amount of second-hand embarrassment Asobi Asobase will save you! The show truly is a rollercoaster of ridiculousness but that is why it is so fun to watch.

Character + Art + Sound: 10
I feel like these are the most important parts of the anime seeing as the story is very simple to accommodate the strange nature of the characters. Unlike the usual girls from anime, the characters from Asobi Asobase are rarely not screaming (not like a KYAA but an actual scream). Honestly, I recommend you watch some ... youtube clips of the show, it will get you interested right away. Everything from the crazy good voice actors to the hilarious art just highlights each characters funny dynamic.

Though I am someone who usually does not write reviews, It disappointed me to the negative feedback regarding this film so I had to write something.

While at first look this is a "childish" movie I don't believe that takes anything away from the sheer thrill it is to experience this movie. The obvious connection to Studio Ghibli, of course, can be seen, and the way the world is built is beautiful. But beyond that, the magical spark throughout the movie is sure to strike a chord with anyone who enjoyed daydreaming about fantastic adventures as a kid. And whether you are a young and old, ... I'm sure many can enjoy that magical ride that is Mary and The Witch's Flower.

Hisone to Maso-tan was an anime I had originally avoided due to its art. However, after just watching the first episode I found myself swept into this seemingly simple but charismatic world.

Story and Characters 7/10
I group these two together because the anime is a very character driven. Much of the episodes are spent exploring character problems. Though some characters are definitely underdeveloped and the story can trail off path overall they were good.

Art 9/10
While simple, the art is what I believe was so important. The rounded shapes and cute images of everything really represented the innocents of this anime. Besides being cute this anime also ... has many beautiful scenes.

Sound 10/10
Okay "there is always room for improvement" but the opening track of this anime is one of my favorites. The innocent voice of the female singer combined with the orchestral music really comes together to represent Hisone to Maso-tan so well. And when the orchestra comes in during the anime it really gives a sense of the bigger picture
