Note: this is a review in progress. As I watch more episodes I will update accordingly. I saw others gave it a 1 in the reviews so I was curious to see if this really is "the worst anime ever" or deserving of just a 1...

I want to make this as fair as possible and keep it short (I will just stick to a quick summary for now)

First: This anime is not going to win any awards, but doesn't seem to be total trash either. I've seen much worst. This one is pretty plain or normal, nothing ground braking.

If you would like to try it ... out for yourself. Then is not going to hurt. The episodes are short and casual enough (about 10 to 13 mins.)

Description and uniqueness:
(may contain some tiny spoilers for context purposes)

This anime starts very strange off. The MC is not very likable and everything is just kinda random or awkward (I agree int this aspect with some other reviews). A few episodes later it turns out this anime is of the typical "Virtual online game" world (and thus all the randomness start to make sense a bit more..). But seems to want to explore a different aspect.... the MC becomes aware that his whole world is a lie and the people he knows are basically "Artificial NPCs" (categorized as just "DATA") not real human beings... He also then feels discriminated by the "real players / humans"...

It reminds me of the NPC's from Tron Legacy or Matrix movies.

This topic actually interests me...
You start to ponder a few things (at least in my case since am a NERD and sci-fi enthusiast) like: Should we consider NPC's, Programs or Artificial beings less than "real" people? Do we humans think we are "real" when we might actually just live in a simulation?? Are we basically just "DATA/INFO" too and thus shouldn't discriminate??

Conclusions so far:
Depending on the type of person you are, you may or may not like it. So far to me is "Okayish" and even at times entertaining. Is pretty casual anime and I keep wanting to watch the next one. Nothing that I really hate so far. Might be worth seeing for yourself that is not as bad as others make it out to be.

recommendation: try and watch the first 2 or 3 episodes in one go.

go ahead, but don't form an opinion till you've seen more than several episodes.

if you like mangas, that is probably as good or better choice to start with.

the short answer: Slow at first, but surprisingly twisted and enlightening later on!

The author is heck lots more twisted than the creator of "Saw"! (without having to go into lots of gore and blood.)

it surprised the heck out of me and kept me wanting to know more.

my first impression (first episode) was: this is weird and kinda slow/boring...! am going to give it a score of 6 and probably stop watching it.

but i decided to give it another chance and continue watching... totally unexpected, things just kept getting better and better.

recommendation: go and watch the 2nd+ episodes now! :)

i believe that it being slow at first is totally intentional and what makes it as good of a story as it is overall.

I think the manga version may actually be a superior way of enjoying this great story, because of the way it's told, its just more natural medium.

Same as @lucifera, being from the Dominican Republic, i grew up watching this great anime (we didn't even called it anime at that time, just J-cartoons ^^)

it brings back lots of memories, it has very sad moments, and that's maybe why i avoid re-watching it too much. But i will watch the movies (didn't know about them till today!)

on the other hand am grateful, i saw this, along with Future Boy Conan and many other great series from the 80's :)

another anime with a similar story is Ashita no Nadja or just Nadja, i started watching it in Cartoon Network, but only got halfway, so ... is pending :/

The original J-Transformers ?!!!

well at least for me

OMG i grew up watching this, so i may sound a little biased but am not. I love transformers overall

really really cool and unique concepts

The only transformers where Man and Machine become one and incredible things begin to happen !

... one of the best concepts ever


the next best is the sequel:
Transformers Victory (lots of surprises here!)

the upcoming best is beast wars (the computer animated)

the anime looks interesting , never had chance to watch it, so will check it out :)

and of course the T movies are just awesome, but this is an anime site so..

if you're a transformers fan you have to watch Transformers Masterforce and victory!
