My experience with cyberpunk is not as familiar as some others. Books like Neuromancer, and snow crash helped pioneer the genre. I haven't read them. But the idea of having machine implants has been something that always intrigued me. The line of man and machine blurring 'Are they still human?' has this machine awakened a soul?. Shows like Ergo Proxy discussed this and portrayed it perfectly.
This show is basically "hey dude want some implants" and david agreeing because "I am built different." That's it. That's the show. The story was predictable. You'll know the ending by ep 3 at the latest. It screams it at
...
you. There is no intriguing twist, or mind breaking reveal. None of that.
The characters fall flat which make the emotional moments not as impactful. Towards the second part of the show some characters made some decisions that didn't really make any sense, but they happened because "plot" reasons.
It's strongest point is the animation, character design, and soundtrack. I mean... it's trigger. The recent overhyping doesn't help this show at all.
it's a solid 4/10. If you have something you want to watch, watch that first. Just like the name of the ed, I really felt it will "Let you down".
