if the director's purpose is to show just how miserable a person can be, then they are utterly succeeded. a blunt depictions, no sugar-coat, just straight depictions. while pessimistically judge the already-miserable, they also keeping them away from the abyss of stagnation by encouraging them to keep moving, in such a ironically humorous way. feel the way of paranoia, hope of pessimist, and use of worthlessness. being forced to feel yourself the accident, trauma, second-hand embarassment, disgust, facepalm, etc (or empathy in short) of these characters and then inadvertently feel despicable of yourself from the very same character is such a joyous to feel different
