While I understand this anime's somewhat low rating, it's better than expected.
The plot is actually pretty good considering this kind of magic school anime and it's common tropes can be very silly. Character development is decent too.
Soundtracks (yaaa ya ya yaa ya ya yaaaa...) are bad. Real bad. The art and overall animation is alright but when it comes to fight scenes they pretty much skip most of them in a way that screams "low budget/no time".
So, it's a fine watch if you are able to enjoy an anime with crap music and without those nice fight coreographies. Oh, it's recommended to skip the cringe,

This is nice. Lots of action, well choreographed fights, while still having interesting storyline and characters. It brings the school and gang themes together in a pretty original setting and has the perfect blend between serious and lighthearted/funny scenes, without being silly and childish in a bad way.
It's somewhat as if Tokyo Revengers had better action scenes, less stupid characters and therefore better dialogue and of course none of the n4z1 references controversy 💀 Anyway, this show might be worth a try even for people that aren't into shounen (must enjoy some fighting though). Could be a 10/10 by the end of the season in terms ... Nov 13, 2023

This current score (6.6) is reeeeally unfair!
Of course this is seinen and thus less popular, maybe some people see Ninja in the name and assume it's another Naruto spin-off but... The story is fairly simple but keeps you hooked, dialogues are meaningful (either relevant to the plot/world building or just funny), the artstyle is pretty cool and unique (though I bet many will dislike it at first, given it's not the same style as 99% of what we see in other animes) and the characters seem to have well defined personalities as of episode 6. May not be a 10, but I definitely recommend it! |
