When thinking of watching something in the slice of life genre, you can't go wrong with Gin no Saji (or Silver Spoon in English). The story was so well paced in this first season's 11 episodes that it made it very easy to watch and enjoy. The characters were all fleshed out and all supported Hachiken really well. As a main character, Hachiken goes through a lot of emotions and feelings and you as the viewer can't help but feel for the guy throughout the series. It even makes you start to wonder about some of the choices in your own life. From issues stemming

from meat consumption to questioning your own ambitions in life. I enjoy an anime that engages the viewers mind and Gin no Saji does just that.
I always feel that music can play such an important role in a piece of film or animation that it can make the most subtle scene feel important and have an impact. Gin no Saji is filled with these well composed original piano tunes that enhances the emotion of a scene and really help immerse you into the story and setting. The OP and ED of this season was so memorable that it left me humming and whistling to them throughout my time watching these 11 episodes. Songs that go so perfect with what the story is about, it really does its job.
Im glad the manga is currently ongoing and so it means the anime is still going as well. I urge you to watch this anime if you're in the mood for something different but at the same time very engaging, funny and heartfelt.
