Both have shoot-outs, evil scientists doing unethical experiments, prison scenes, attempted rape, appearances by the Chinese mafia, old men who are obsessed with teenage boys, and bromance. Banana Fish has BL subtext though.

...then you might like Mahou Shoujo-tai Arusu add

Both involve the mc being transported to another world where the mc proceeds to annoy the other characters with their strong opinions.

If you liked Fruits Basket add

...then you might like Sex Pistols add

animal "inner spirits"--in Fruits Basket, it's supernatural and Sex Pistols has a very complicated genetic/evolutionary explanation but there is a similar feel. Also both have many canon couples and a large and strange family. Though, in my opinion Fruits Basket is much much better than Sex Pistols.

If you liked Ouran Koukou Host Club add

...then you might like Seiyou Kottou Yougashiten: Antique add

Both shows feature pretty boys who come together to form a family of sorts while serving cake to girls. Although Antique Bakery is definitely BL, Ouran is only slashable.

If you liked Gravitation add

...then you might like Junjou Romantica add

Both feature smoking writers who are distant from their families, characters who are afraid to love again, and assertive ukes. After seeing Gravitation, all other BL falls short, but Junjo Romantica is so cute, I think any Gravi fan would enjoy it.
