At its best, it's a really good school comedy! The problem is that it spends too much time on the wrong stuff.
To me, the student council and High School Girls parts were never that funny, and somewhere around half the show is made up of those skits. It's a little tiring, and especially disappointing because the parts about the main boys are almost invariably funny.
It'll sound way too negative if I say the show peaked in its first episode, but most of the Best Moments I had seen around online came from the beginning of the show, and then it diverges into some
...
mostly unfunny side stories. The best parts are when they stay true to the original premise of just some high school boys living high school lives.
For a slice of life comedy, the art and animation are serviceable, but the horrible ending theme took away from my overall enjoyment. The voice acting was great though.
Also, poor Tadakuni. He's the protagonist and doesn't even appear in half of the episodes.

I can say without a doubt that this is the worst anime I've ever seen. I have to wonder, why did I decide to watch Nakaimo in the first place? I guess because the premise seemed interesting. Sadly, it turned out to be a total waste of time.
Story:
The premise of Nakaimo is pretty simple: a standard harem with one twist. Unlike something like Oreimo (where the protagonist knows who his sister is and is fine with dating her), the protagonist of this show didn't even know he had a sister (because of some poorly explained head trauma), and is doing everything he can to
...
not end up with her, even though the sister makes it clear that she plans on marrying him. I guess the appeal of this premise is the mystery behind who the sister is, but with one look at the poster, I guessed who it was perfectly. Once that aspect is gone, you get a completely bland, forgettable mess. The pacing was horrible too. The harem has a whopping six girls (one who is added later), and within 12 episodes, they try to give each of them at least 2-3 episodes of focus and "character development". These episodes only exist to make you frustrated about who the real sister is. It's not spoilers to say that each girl is framed as the real sister at least once, and it's just annoying to see that be thrown around so much. I'll get into how that went later, but the pacing ended up a mess because of it, and any attempt at a story is buried behind a ton of worthless fluff. In the first episode, one girl is hit by a truck. There are no consequences or impacts on the story. It's just something that happens.
Art:
The actual animation wasn't that bad, but the art was a pain to look at. The character designs were bad and the quality was the definition of low budget, and that's not even mentioning the ridiculous amount of fanservice found in the worst places. Also, I don't think the animators knew anything about how things look. There was a scene where a girl's dress strap goes untied, which actually can happen, but the animation makes it look like some sort of invisible pervert was untying it behind her back.
Sound:
This is harder to talk about because I don't actually remember any of the OST (that's how boring it was). But, the opening was catchy, and that's probably the only good thing about the show.
Characters:
Take your standard harem cast, boil down any potential interesting character development, and you're left with the starch-bland cast of Nakaimo. The protagonist is so generic that I can't even remember his name, and he's the kind of character who acts however the episode wants him to act with no continuity to his "established" personality, which is the worst type of character. The girls are all standard tropes, but instead of being entertaining or having some sort of twist like characters in other harems, they get no development whatsoever. I mentioned that the show tries to give each of them a few episodes of their own, but those attempts always fell flat on their faces. The characters are boring and generic with no depth at all, and to top it off, they're not even designed well.
Enjoyment:
This anime was a chore to watch. After starting it and then neglecting it for weeks, I had to sit myself down and watch the remaining episodes in one go. Even if I liked harems, I wouldn't like this show. I mean, right before this, I watched Nisekoi (which I actually really enjoyed), so I guess I just got my hopes up.
Bottom line: this anime is a boring, generic, ugly waste of time. There's no reason you should watch it. Even if you're into fanservice harems, you're not going to find any enjoyment here.

I was ecstatic when I heard that a Kagerou Project anime was being made. As a fan of the song series, I had high hopes. And, while some were fulfilled, some were let down too.
Story: 6. The overall premise of MCA is interesting enough, but I'll admit that the execution and the non-linear setup made it extremely hard to follow. There would be long, dry portions followed by rushed sections of too much going on at once. They had a really bad habit of having the first 2/3 of an episode not contain much substance, and then the final 1/3 be packed with too much.
...
It didn't make much sense half the time, and when it did, the next episode screwed everything up. Also, if you didn't stick around after the credits to watch the puppet show story of the monster, then you're missing out on a lot, and won't understand when things start falling together six or seven episodes in. But even though it was confusing as heck and the strange order made it even more confusing, the plot was interesting enough to want to keep watching.
Art: 7. After watching the first episode, it was pretty clear to me that this was a low-budget anime, or at least resembled one. The art, while very pleasing, sometimes looked like it was experimental; and, for experimental art, it was going a bit too far. Take the memory sequence in Kisaragi Attention. None of those metaphors made any sense. It feels like they wanted to make something really deep and cool but instead turned a man into a chair with a phonograph, a balloon, and a teddy bear sitting on it. Not to mention that the characters just looked off at times. But sometimes the experiments worked. We got some really great color palettes out of this show- I loved the reds and greys used in the mall scene. The character designs were great as usual, and some scenes had fantastic usage of light and color, so I have to give this a pretty high mark. (Also, I love the paper doll footage at the end. It reminds me a lot of Madoka Magica, which is also animated by Shaft).
Sound: 9. For an anime based on a series of songs, this show does not disappoint in the sound category. While the background pieces were a bit bland at times, they worked with every scene they were placed to. And of course, the original music was fantastic. The one thing I really have to complain about is the unexplained usage of a male singer in Fantasy Forest. Since the song is from Marry's perspective, it doesn't make much sense and stuck out as odd to me.
Characters: 7. I have to say, this show has a great cast of characters, but they ended up feeling off, or out of character a lot of the time. Also, Seto was pretty annoying throughout the whole show. But since the show has a diverse and generally well handled cast, I couldn't put it any lower. Also, the characters have genuine relationships with each other, which is always nice to see.
Enjoyment: 8. I'll put it right out there; I loved this anime. I understand the flaws, and sometimes I was staring at my screen wondering what was going on. But I loved watching this anime. It actually toyed with my emotions more than Madoka Magica ever did (not to put than anime down, because it actually handles a lot of things better than MCA). It made me laugh (at times. It wasn't meant to be a comedy, but had some pretty funny scenes; case in point, Shintaro), it made me sad, it even sometimes got me excited (like the execution of the Otsukimi Recital scene). I loved watching this anime, and even though it wasn't always the best, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.
Overall score: 7.
