A Tale of Two Halves – JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
I’m so relieved to have finally finished this series. Getting through the first half took a lot of effort. It was slow, boring at times, and dominated by an antagonist—Dio—who was a constant irritation you just couldn’t escape.
Jonathan Joestar, the supposed protagonist, didn’t initially seem like much of a fighter. However, having a parasite like Dio around was bound to push anyone to their limits. From the start, Dio was utterly detestable—a spoiled, entitled brat with a massive inferiority complex. Despite the Joestar family taking him in, he could never appreciate their kindness, always wanting more.
...
While his tragic upbringing may have contributed to his behavior, his despicable choices made it impossible to sympathize with him.
Oddly enough, the story often felt like it revolved around Dio rather than Jonathan. Dio’s larger-than-life presence overshadowed Jonathan, making him feel more like a side character at times. By the end, however, I found myself understanding Dio just a little more. I don’t think he truly hated Jonathan. It felt more like a twisted sibling rivalry—he wanted Jonathan’s attention but didn’t know how to express it, so he resorted to despicable acts to get a reaction. That doesn’t excuse his actions, but it added some depth to his character.
The second half of the series was a bit better. Joseph Joestar brought an entirely different vibe—he was funny, cocky, resourceful, and unapologetically bold. He always found a way to outwit his opponents, which made him so much fun to watch. Unlike his grandfather, Jonathan, Joseph didn’t take himself too seriously, and his charm carried the story forward in an exciting way.
The antagonists in this half were also more enjoyable. Unlike Dio, who overstayed his welcome, these villains served their purpose, fought their battles, and exited the stage for good. It made their arcs feel more concise and satisfying.
Lisa Lisa was another standout character, though I wish we could’ve seen her full potential. Her fight with Kars had so much promise, but he robbed her of the opportunity to shine. If she had faced him properly, she would’ve absolutely dealt some serious damage. Thankfully, Kars got what he deserved, floating stone-cold in the vastness of space. Good riddance!
I’ve heard nothing but praise for season 3, featuring Jotaro Kujo as the main protagonist. Apparently, it’s considered the best of the JoJo series. I’ll be the judge of that when I dive into it, but for now, I’m cautiously optimistic.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a mixed bag. The first half was a slog to get through, but the second half made up for it with better pacing, characters, and action. If you can endure the slow start, the payoff is worth it. I hope season 3 takes everything to the next level!

When I started this series, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but I was hoping for something with more impact. Unfortunately, I spent the majority of the time feeling bored and, at times, frustrated. As the supposed leader of the 7 Wonders, I expected more from Hanako. His role and the rules governing the 7 Wonders weren’t clearly explained, which left me confused. I thought being the “leader” would allow him to bend the rules a little within the domains of the other Wonders, but it seems even he has strict limitations.
What added to my frustration was the lack of clarity surrounding Hanako’s twin
...
brother, Tsukasa. Why does Tsukasa seem so much stronger? And why did he kill Hanako? I assume these questions are part of the overarching plot and will be explored later, but I was hoping for at least some hints this season. Revealing the mysteries too early might have the entire show lose its appeal in a sense. As a main character, Hanako fell flat for me—I wanted him to be more dynamic, wild, and powerful, but he didn’t leave much of an impression. Even the plot of the series was lacking.
On the other hand, I did find a strange sort of satisfaction in seeing “Miss Daikon” (Nene) put in her place throughout the series. That being said, she quickly became one of the most irritating female protagonists I’ve encountered in anime. Her constant screams and exaggerated reactions felt more obnoxious than endearing. While I understand the cast is mostly made up of children, I’ve seen other shows featuring young protagonists who manage to be compelling without being grating. Unfortunately, Nene didn’t make that cut for me.
The supporting characters didn’t fare much better. None of them had enough presence or development to really capture my interest. The only thing that kept me watching was my curiosity about Hanako’s backstory. How and why did he die so young? How did he become the 7th Wonder? What is his purpose, and how long has he been fulfilling this role? These questions intrigued me, but I didn’t get enough answers—though I didn’t expect much resolution in the first season.
While my curiosity about Hanako’s past might tempt me to watch season two, I’m not sure it’s enough to commit. As of now, my feelings about the series are lukewarm at best. I might give season 2 a shot, but only time will tell.

To be completely honest, this show is pretty mediocre. I found myself utterly bored for most of its runtime. While I typically enjoy the Isekai genre, this one didn’t capture my interest the way others have.
One major issue is how glorified the characters are—it's almost laughable. For instance, two of the characters are supposed to be "Holy Maidens," yet their behavior is anything but saintly. They act like immature, spoiled brats, which completely undercuts their supposed titles. I assume one of them is meant to be a "tsundere," but the portrayal is grating, not endearing. Luna, in particular, stood out for all the wrong
...
reasons. Her name, "Luna Elegant," feels ironic because her personality is the exact opposite—there's nothing elegant about her, and frankly, it’s not cute.
Then there’s another character whose over-the-top perversion completely killed the vibe for me. She has zero understanding of personal boundaries, and the constant barrage of perverted antics became exhausting. It was just way too much.
The main character, on the other hand, had potential but fell flat. While the premise of being transported into a game he created as the Demon Lord sounds intriguing, he doesn’t live up to the title. There’s no sense of grandeur or true power, and he left no lasting impression on me. He’s forgettable, and unfortunately, so is the show as a whole.
I feel like the entire series lacked a solid plot, as well as a sense of fun adventure. It's just about the demon lord making money and chilling
I’d like to say that I hope season 2 improved, but honestly, I doubt it. I’m not even sure I want to watch it.

TO WATCH OR NOT TO WATCH!
That was the question that played on in my mind like a broken record. I caved and began my binge journey. I began watching with low expectations, and came out highly entertained. I can say that this show left it's mark in my heart.
I was very impressed with the art style as well as the intricate fighting scenes. I wasn't sure what I was to expect seeing as the main character has a disability since birth. The story was very unique in its own way as well as the character and how he dealt with situations and people
...
his entire life. I especially loved how well put together the story is, well, Bojji's(the main character) story as it entwined with others around him and you could also witness their stories as well.
The other characters were written well enough to set in motion the chain of events to take place for Bojji's journey.
The story wasn't as strong to me, but it was all the characters, including Bojji, that brought light to the story. I loved the fact that Bojji became strong on his own but even stronger with the support of those who loved him dearly. He went to hell and back (literally and figuratively) to become even stronger so he can protect those most precious to him. No matter how much he has been through mentally, physically, and emotionally, he persevered through it all even without knowing about those who silently watched over him. At the end of the day, he's still a little boy who feels sorrow, pain, anger, and joy and watching him overcome it all broke my heart and mended it all at the same time. It was refreshing to watch his character development and how much he grew from episode 1 to episode 23 and presumably more growth to come since his journey is not yet over but only just beginning.
What I loved most about Bojji is that he was so selfless. He care more about the well-being of others than his own and would do anything to protect them. I think people most forget, that even though there are others who might be different from them in certain aspects, they are all still the same human beings. But then you have those humans worse than demons who prey other the good will of others and take advantage of them. What I took mostly from this as a message was that, no matter how you came to be and how you are, you still have room for improvement and growth. Regardless of the flaws and disadvantages, you can still get your butt up, fight back, and be victorious! If Bojji can do it, any one can!! I believe it! :)
The OST was really good as well. Fitting for such a show! I would only half recommend this to certain people. To watch this, you would have to keep an open mind, open heart, and have the patience to witness how great of a boy Prince Bojji is and how through his journey and the people he's met changed his life, while he changed theirs as well.

TOTALLY BINGE-WORTHY!!! (Not saying it's the greatest show there is, but it's totally worth a watch).
I've been wanting to watch this show and now that I have, I was not disappointed. 🥰
I can say I'm a little biased when it comes to these types of shows, that has to do with child-care since I love children. They are usually very endearing to watch and sometimes tug on your heartstrings.
However this show in particular doesn't tug on the heart strings too much, it just makes you gush a bit from how cute it is. The characters are very interesting. Like I cannot imagine this happening
...
in real life but because I can't, that's what makes this show so adorable, the fact that a mean-faced, hot-tempered yakuza(Kirishima) has to babysit. I found that there was meaning in his task to babysit. It was to mellow him out in the sense of making him seem more human(to care about the well-being of others and his own well-being) and less of an uncaring "demon" who only knows violence.
The boss made a good decision to have him babysit. It showed a really good side to Kirishima and I really liked the close and trusting relationship he developed with young lady Yaeka. This not only changed Kirishima, but it also changed Yaeka as well and for the better really. They both made many new encounter with people, became happier and have lots of adventurous moments together, but it's not just them, but also the other people around them in their lives.
The development of the characters really shows, especially for Kirishima. He still may have his dark tendencies, if someone triggers him or tries to hurt someone he cares about, but that side of him will always be apart of him. It doesn't mean he has to continuously be that "demon" everyone labels him as. I think deep down, he wanted to change and he has changed into a better version of himself for himself, the family, and especially for Yaeka. That alone makes him more than human. 💙
So If you enjoy childcare, cute characters, and some hearty moments, this is definitely a show for you!

I just finished this a few days ago and what I really enjoyed about it was that it wasn't focused on just the main characters but also the supporting characters. I liked the depth each character had, it shows how they developed and how they struggled and dealt with their own issues, whether it was about themselves, about their significant other or about them as a couple together. I loved how there was communication between the couples, which is very important for all relationships. The dynamic of everyone was quite different and I truly liked that is showed the aspect of love being in all
...
different shapes and form. Overall, It was not too bad a read, but I would have liked to see more future developments between the couples, but I guess ending it the way it did was the best decision.

I'm not one for romance type animes but this was a really good anime to watch. Once I started watching I couldn't stop. I'm just giving my own opinion although not many people may agree.
At first I thought the whole amnesia thing was a bit cliché but it went very well with the story and the characters. I couldn't stand the female lead at first. She was overbearingly obnoxious, demanding, immature, and didn't think about other people but herself. She was liked a spoiled rich brat! Ugh!! Still, throughout the entire show, she showed great character development. She changed and I got
...
used to her. As for the main character, he did went through a lot and watching how he changed and overcame his situation made me literally tear up! It was nice to see that. It wasn't just him and the main girl who changed. His friends did too. They all, well, most of them experienced pain and overcame it somehow. I was shipping a certain two people together but they didn't end up together because she was acting nonchalantly stupid. *sigh* I felt bad for her in the end. I know how she felt though~
In any case, I would say this is a pretty good show. I would give it a try if you like romance. There are so much feels. :D
