i really wanted to enjoy this anime, as mythical creatures and obscure Japanese culture are things i find interesting, but I cant stay awake through an episode, I have to watch one at least 3 times to remember what happened. the character back story is better than the main story, and it feels like an experiment on how far into nothing happening zone a slice of life can be pushed. I only made it half way so maybe it gets better in the second half, but I wont be here for it. everyone is different and I always say try before you say you dont

the title tells you what arc its pushing you toward, and the intro everyone complains isn't fleshed out is only there for people who may not know the characters. I struggled through the original RWBY, I'm glad I did, but there was just something about the original that caused a disconnect between the video and the story, and I found myself re-watch episodes to grasp artistic/emotional intent. the animation in this version deleted the aforementioned struggle. The mixed feelings rating is purely because this isn't a full remake, and many newcomers will watch this series expecting more, and leave burnt. I enjoyed the flow, art,

I feel like I just watched a speed run of every shoen anime smashed together and blended into a tasteless paste. It's like they worked off a trope list, everything is just fine. back stories kind of just thrown at the wall. art was good, some scenes were great actually (although conflicts and fight scenes were like a mix of kung fu by wire live action style and old superhero cartoons).
I guess there is a cultural divide on how the Chinese look at relationships, but it was hard to understand motives of characters past the plot armor. I will say one thing about ... |
