1. Both are unexpected titles. You think Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is a romance shoujo anime. You think Gintama is just another samurai anime. You're wrong, because everyone is just a dork. 2. Both have the same humor. They give you hope and then it all just comes crashing down. 3. Both have a plot that the original author/mangaka can't touch on frequently. In Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, the plot is the relationship between Chiyo and Nozaki, but the two can't really progress much because that would signal the end of the series. In Gintama, the main plot is Kiheitai, but the main villains barely appear (like one arc/one episode per season), because that would signal the end of the series. Instead, we get a bunch of other hilarity. Gintama is a lot longer and needs some getting used to. The later episodes are much funnier and more polished than the earlier episodes.
