Interesting how this is going to be my first review, but I feel like my thoughts might help others decide on watching this show. My short answer is don't even consider it. There is nothing to gain from watching such a fruitless and disappointing series. I went in optimistic, expecting fleshed out characters and an appealing story line. I got the exact opposite.
Story - 1/10
If you came to this anime expecting a riveting plot, you will not get that. In fact, it would be dishonest to call what happens a "plot", rather a last minute turn of events that results in absolutely nothing happening.
...
After that, the anime ends. It's really that bad. There was potential in a story about a human living with a bunch of vampires, but the writer chose to go for a bland, borderline sadistic story about a girl being sexually assaulted in every single fucking episode. That is not an exaggeration. Every chance the vampires can get, they pin this young girl down and take her blood, it's actually sickening. If you're into masochism, then you're in for a treat as this is the whole "plot" for 10 episodes. "What about the last couple of episodes?" you may ask. Well, it's a bullshit, rushed turn of events that amounts to nothing, like I said. It should of definitely been a slow transition from the start of the anime to the end, without it though this anime has no "plot" whatsoever.
Oh, and also. If you were curious what this anime consists of, it's only exposition, backstory/flashbacks that are done very lazily and drinking blood scenes. That's it.
Art - 7/10
The only thing I liked about this train-wreck was the animation and art. Somebody clearly put time and effort into this and it shows with how clean and likable the designs of the characters were. The protagonist isn't boring and stands out. In honesty, she was one of the only characters I remember the name of and that's mostly due to her design. DO NOT, and I mean, DO NOT watch this anime ONLY for the art though, it isn't worth your time. There is so much anime that is better than this with even better art.
Sound - 4/10
The voice acting is decent, but that's all the credit it will get. With people like Kaji Yuki voice acting the characters, it makes sense that it's going to be decent. However, the slurping and sucking noises when the vampires drink from the main character is utterly cringe-worthy and in some cases made me laugh. If you're someone who doesn't like eating/drinking noises, I do not recommend even trying to sit through this anime. Another note is that I barely even remember the music used, I suppose it was so bland that I forgot it was there.
Characters - 1/10
I've been looking forward to writing about the characters, as they are what makes me most pissed when it comes to this show. Every single chance there is to develop, and possible making the character likable, the writers decided that they wouldn't. For example, in a scene where the main character is being carried by Ayato and thrown into the pool, he suddenly notices she cannot swim and is drowning. For a second, panic is shown on his face and he jumps in to get her.
What does he do next? He KISSES her, BITES her and keeps her DROWNING. The slightest most TINIEST bit of character development completely ruined just because the writers can. There is no other explanation to why the writers chose to do this. Why they didn't take advantage of this moment to make him somewhat likable fucking baffles me.
This isn't the only instance, when the main character is about to take a bath, Shuu can be seen lying in it. There is a small conversation before the main character BLATANTLY exclaims how she thinks he is different, only for Shuu to pull her into the tub and tell her "Don't get it wrong, i'm like the others". What sort of bullshit writing is that? The writers had the chance to create a character willing to respect boundaries only to crush that minutes later. And listen to me, ALL of the characters are like this. None of them get development. I waited, sat through 12 episodes only to be disappointed. Any character you may think has the slightest ounce of kindness is shown to be just as disgusting as the next. It's appalling.
And for the main character, I honestly couldn't care less anymore. At first I found her strong and interesting as she repeatedly tried to escape the vampires and pushed them away, but that all changed when she had the opportunity to run, and she didn't because she wants to find information about her father. I can't even call this Stockholm Syndrome because even after that she tries to escape the vampires. It's utter bullshit.
Enjoyment - 1/10
There isn't anything to enjoy about this anime. Unless you are a sick freak, a masochist, or have a fetish/kink related to being abused, you will hate every ounce of this show. If you like good character design and art, go somewhere else. You are wasting 3 hours of your life if you're only watching for the art.
Overall 1/10
I do not recommend this putrid anime. It's utterly disgusting in how this was even approved to be aired. Maybe watch this with your friends for a laugh like I did, but beware, it's fucking disgusting in every way.
Please for the love of god, don't waste your time or energy sitting through this. Do not have high expectations, do not expect anything more than a bland, disgusting heap of trash.
