The story is pretty average overall, but I'm a sucker for the whole "working your way up from the bottom" plot.

Art: 8

The art is also pretty typical. The characters look good, the action is well animated, but nothing really stands out. I bumped it up to an 8 because the black-and-white-with-highlights color scheme that is sometimes used looks really nice and I haven't seen anything like it in any other anime.

Sound: 7

... I have to admit, nothing really stood out to me as particularly good or bad. The OP was pretty good, I guess.

Character: 8

The characters were nothing special, but I bumped it up to an 8 because the relationship between the main characters actually progresses, instead of perpetually staying in a state of in-love-but-not-quite-dating like in a lot of other anime.

Enjoyment: 9

I enjoyed this show way more than I should have. I don't know why, but when I first watched this I stayed up late to finish it in one night. I can't pinpoint exactly what made this anime stand out, but I liked it enough to rewatch it and write a 219 word review.

This anime is pretty average, but I really enjoyed it. I'd recommend watching the first episode and seeing if you like it.
