The story/concept was actually a rather original idea. While a lot of people are stating that the art was bad, I found that it was alright and was relatively unfazed by it.
It's rated 16+ for good reason, as it does have a ton(and I mean a ton) of inappropriate scenes. (Oops, I am under 16, and when I watched this I was hardly a teenager, but oh well...) For an Isekai anime, this was surprisingly... different. The idea was relatively original and intriguing. The art style was not atrocious, and the characters all had their own amazing designs. Sadly, Subaru just kept on dying, and dying, and dying. Honestly, I got so sick of rewatching the same scenes over and over again (only slightly altered), that I gave up on the anime all together.
Re: Zero could have done much better, but nothing kept me hooked into the story. It's been two or three years since I've seen it, and I am going to attempt to pick it back up after having a break ... |
