I didn't know a lot about C when I started it and I wasn't sure if I would like it, but it only took one episode for me to realize how complex and interesting it was. I'll get right into it...

Story 7/10
Maybe it's just me, but this anime really reminds me of Inception. There's a lot of thinking the viewer has to do. I had to rewind fairly often to understand what was going on. However, the constant search of wanting to figure out more kept me interested. I think the plot was very well thought out and I really enjoyed it. I only gave ... the plot a 7 for two reasons. 1: the confusion was rather frustrating at times and 2: it would've been much better had the series lasted longer; they crammed a lot of story in too few episodes. I was left with many unanswered questions and a feeling that I missed out.

Characters 8/10
I say it all the time, but what's really important to me is that characters with bigger roles are the ones who should be given more backstory. I wish I could've known a bit more about Kimimaro's past, but they did a pretty good job considering there's only 11 episodes. Besides that, I found it very hard to dislike the characters. The two main girls are tough and hard-working instead of whimpy and annoying, Kimimaro has a compassionate personality, and Souichirou has a story you just can't hate him for. Lastly, I really liked how I had to choose sides during the final few deals. I found it hard to choose favorites and it really got to me.

Art 10/10
The art in this anime is incomparable to any I've seen. The Financial District is really futurist with the architecture and it's really beautiful. Everything was so colorful and bright-just the right amount to not be too busy. One of my favorite parts of C is Masakaki. He was drawn in 3D and that really amazed me.

Sound
I sometimes find it hard to review the music and effects of an anime because I'm usually too focused on the story to think about the background song. However, I kinda think that's how it should be. Music used in movies/tv shows should compliment the mood of the scene. I shouldn't be distracted by some weird music that has no business being in that scene. So not recalling much of the music is a good thing in my opinion.

I jump all over the place in anime genres. At one point I was watching Ghost Hunt and Ouran Highschool Host Club at the same time X) ! C really caught my attention because it combined a lot of genres into one anime. There was tons of action (shounen), definitely drama with some heart-jerking moments, and even a tiny bit of romance! So for those like me who just can't stick to one or two genres, this anime is definitely for you!

Nabari no ou is my 2nd favorite anime of all time (after Kuroshitsuji of course=D). I went into it not sure what to expect. It looked like a shounen with ninjas and lots of fighting (not really my thing) but I found that it was sooo much more than that.

Story 10/10 The story is very original and not what you would expect from a ninja story. It took me 3 episodes to get into it, and a few more for me to really get interested. After that I was completely hooked. I liked that there were mini-plots within the main one. There were side stories ... like Raimei's and Gao's, but they were focused on just enough that they didn't distract too much from the main story. The only complaint I have is that the whole thing is pretty complicated. Some complex ideas aren't completely drawn out and it can take awhile to figure out (especially what the heck the shinrabanshou is)! It tested my patience a bit, but it was definitely worth it.

Characters 10/10 The main characters in Nabari no Ou are each very different individuals and I liked that their personalities differed. Despite the differences, relationships between the characters were meaningful and complex. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just say that some of the characters you'd least expect are incredibly compatible and enjoyable to watch together (you'll know who I'm talking about). There was just the right amount of backstory for each character. I think that greater importance of a character = more backstory, and that's exactly how it played out.

Art 8/10 The animation isn't fantastic, but it isn't bad. There isn't too much detail and colors are mostly neutral. Like I said, the animation wasn't bad-it's well drawn and it's not really anything I'd complain about-but it isn't fantastic and gorgeous like Kuroshitsuji or Ouran High School Host Club for example.

Sound 9/10 I will have the theme song stuck in my head for all eternity, but it isn't a bad thing! I actually got the song and although I don't know what any of it means, it's a really catchy song! The ending theme was great too. The voice acting was phenomenal and they were really good at portraying the emotions of the characters. And I'm not surprised with J. Michael Tatum, Chris Patton, and Joel McDonald in the cast! Besides that, sound effects weren't to generic and I thought the music used really fit the mood of the scene.

Enjoyment 10/10 I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of Nabari no Ou and there is no doubt I'll be rewatching it soon (and again after that). The plot really kept me interested and the side stories kept me wondering how the other characters were doing. The characters were definitely the best part of this anime and I can't say it enough.

I don't think there's a specific group of people who would enjoy Nabari no Ou-it's kinda for everyone. There's action, comedic relief, drama, and supernatural themes. It's deemed a shounen, but I think girls would really enjoy this because of the character relationships and the bishies :)

Yuuri Shibooya is a 15 year old boy who was chosen by the 1st demon king (The Great One) from an alternate world to be the 27th demon king. The series is about Yuuri learning how to be a good Maoh while still keeping true to his kind and forgiving nature.

Kyo Kara Maoh greatly exceeded my expectations. The plot moves along at a comfortable pace and doesn't completely leave you in the dark about the plot. Don't get me wrong, the later episodes often end in a cliffhanger and you'll always be left wanting more. But the story isn't too confusing and complicated things are ... eventually explained. What I didn't like was that it tended to be overly cheesy sometimes. I also wish we would've seen more of Yuuri's daily life on Earth and interactions with his family.

The characters all phenomenal. Each of them have distinct personalities and traits to the point where it's easy to identify with at least one of them. It takes a while, but the character development is great with flashbacks and half to entire episodes devoted to character history. I was very surprised to find that I cared so much for them! At some points I just wanted to give Wolfram a hug whenever he was sad or tell Yuuri everything will turn out alright. Each of the main characters has a defining moment that will make you rethink your assumptions about them and/or like them even more. However, I did want to learn more about Wolfram's father and his younger years. Probably half of the past that was shown was about Conrad's father, who doesn't really play a big part in the series.

I really enjoyed the animation. They really payed attention to detail and made everything gorgeous. The magic used is often fiery lions or water in the shape of serpent heads instead of a vague laser-beam-like force. The characters and their clothing are very detailed from Wolfram's eyelashes to Yuuri's necklace.

The little things about Kyo Kara Maoh are what really made me fall in love with it. I absolutely adored the 2nd ending theme, Gwendall's knitting was so cute, Josak's disguises killed me every time, Anissina's antics provided great comic relief, and I was Yuuram all the way and actually yelled at Yuuri in frustration at some points.

I highly encourage Kyo Kara Maoh to anyone who likes cheesy comedy and characters you can't help but love.
