One of the better gyaru mangas. Focuses on normal day scenarios in school, not too ecchi and Kuro gal is really cute. Even though it seems like the otaku boy would be a love interest at first, this is definitely a yuri manga.
The phasing is equivalent of a gag manga, which means that the characters and the story stay a bit shallow personality-wise. A couple of unnecessary characters are introduced in the end but their chapters are really short. Art style is good with minor perspective flaws. Readable in a day.
This is no Kuragehime but it brought a smile to my face.

First of all, the school setting was SO not needed for this. If you can ignore the fact that these are supposed to be 14 y.o. brats, it is a pretty good show about power struggles in biker gangs and time travel.
My guess is that the gap in time would have been too wide for the target audience because apparently god forbid you could be over 30 y.o. hero in an anime.
(I think it would have been more realistic to go back in time the same 12 years, but go from at least 34 or so and be 22 or so in the past for
...
this to be more than just childish pecking over status.)
As much as I hate the trope of women existing only to die to give the MC a reason to do anything, I'm willing to overlook it here because the genre is probably shounen. It does bother me a bit that (even though it gets better in the 2nd season) all this for a gf you hardly do anything with and haven't seen in the future either? Seems unrealistic.
But MC definitely likes to get beaten for no reason at all and many situations in this anime could've been solved by talking, taking into consideration these are supposed to be some mini-yakuzas but damn if I love a good beating when I see one.
Other cons are that the pace is a bit slow and constant explaining of the situation is kinda unneeded since total idiots probably skip this anime anyway.
But the good things that make you watch this anime? The MC does seem to have a half of a brain, relationships are somewhat respected, believable setting in the future scenes, friendships between some of the characters, pretty nice visual design if you ignore the noses. I think the fashion from the 2000's is a refreshing notion, and the fact that they tried different things with character design. Changes in personalities are subtle, but noticeable.
Good fights, if you're willing to ignore some bad moves coming from guys who apparently fight a lot.
See? You have to ignore some minor flaws in this and then it's a good anime.
That's why I think it doesn't deserve a full 10, but goes above the typical titty shit.

I have a feeling this anime tries to be like Honey&Clover, but ends up missing some very important parts of that;
1) approachable characters. The viewer doesn't have to like everyone, but if every character lacks coherency or is written only half-way and is mostly viewed only through who they happen to like, it's like viewing someone from far away and only trying to guess what's inside their head.
2) sense of continuity. Usually even in the worst pieces of slice of life-anime most of the situations lead to another situation. I feel like that happens only like 25% of this story. I think it's alright to
...
have non-coherent situations, cause life in itself isn't a script either. But the most cardinal sin of this anime is that super-natural element which is promised but never leads to anything.
3) an actual conclusion to the problems presented and leaving every situation too open-ended. You need to be a bit more decisive if you are going to tell a story. Without that this is more like an abstract painting where you can insert your feelings about whatever.

About the supernatural element.
I first thought since it wasn't discussed much, that it was a clever way of showing some problems with mental illness that the arrival of Kakeru caused. Now I'm almost sure it was meant to be just Touko's inner reflections about things, but nothing supernatural.
I thought half-way the show that the whole discussion about the visions was some form of manipulating done by Kakeru, and that he is just a regular stalker. Also considering the whole "trying to get close to Touko but eventually distancing self"-thing going on.
But even that theory melted away since the last episode. I'm sure it still is about Kakeru having a fear of commitment and being unsure about things, but even so, there isn't much character development happening on the MC couple. Everything about it just feels like a bland summer romance gone wrong.
So it doesn't really work even on the romance section. Other people's romances also have a feeling that they'll only last this summer or 'til the end of school and seem like they are not built on steady foundations, so to speak.

Didn't expect to see a slice-of-life this good about the thought-process of teenagers (read as: life of horny and confused teenagers). And all without overusing stupid ecchi flashing for "comedy" purposes.
Pros: Can't say this is an overly mature anime about the subject but it was easily relatable. Honestly, pretty much 70 % of the girl-talk and drama in the show was almost exact same we had with 3 of my best friends during ages 12-14 to 17, really. Everything seemed to revolve around confusion about sex in the middle school until you actually had it, and how to behave with boys/men. This anime
...
brought me back to those times.
Cons: Shame that apart from the megane and the writer, the other girls seem to lack a bit of personality. And I'm not saying the pedo story was all together unbelievable but I would've chosen some more realistic example of their behaviour...but I kinda understand, nobody (in a healthy state of sexuality) really wants to see that shit happen on screen. Also, of course some of the sex-related behaviour and thinking was a bit exaggerated but I think that's the norm in anime nowadays anyway.
Would it be creepy for adult men to be watching this? Dunno, who am I to judge but I would say this kinda falls into shoujo/josei-category, definitely.
PS. Pedo guy has some weird Andy Warhol aura around him /laugh

That feel when you have to go to the ends of the Earth to get your shit together~
But for real, reminded me of the inner struggles as a teenager and the insecurity of taking responsibility and surviving on your own in new environments, and how scary it was at that time.
I liked that even if there was development in characters, you didn't see it in each and every single scene because that's usually not how people act IRL even when they're feeling strong emotions, and it was believable.
Only minus would come from how they chose to show realism only when in suited the script, like
...
telling about nausea on sea travels and some of the hard work they do in Antarctica but at the same time; characters hanging out in the extreme coldness like it's no big deal and the actual expedition team just drinking and eating all the time. This would have been great opportunity to learn more about the actual work they do there, in a fun way.
Overall, 7/10 because an effort was made in the story and it had a lot of potential but I think it got lost in translation somewhere in between trivial drama and slightly weird story-phasing.
