If you enjoy Romance anime, then I highly recommend this one to you. Over the past few seasons, I felt as though the Romance genre has been pretty stale, but this one has got me excited for every new episode. I have only seen the first 4 episodes so far, but if you are checking in on this new series, this review is for you.
Story: The story is pretty simple. Two cute girls go up to the MC and start doing a confession, MC gets nervous, but BAM, they both confess that they are in love in MC's best friend. Then enter a 3rd girl,
...
who is nerdy, keeps to herself, and works in the library, she confesses to the MC. Nothing to grand or super unique, but it is how the anime goes about it, from plot twist to plot twist and fun interactions.
Art: The art and animation in this anime is top notch for a Romance (non-action) anime. The characters all look aesthetically pleasing (girls look cute) and the facial animation really gets you into the scene. Absolutely no complaints in this department.
Sound: I feel as though all the voice actors fit their characters so far and help bring out the emotion needed for each scene. I am not a sound expert by any means, but I have seen plenty of anime with voice acting that stands out in a bad way and not once have I cringed during this anime.
Characters: This is what separates this anime from the recent Romance anime. The MC and the two main side characters (best friend and the nerdy girl) really showcase their individual personalities in these first 4 episodes. The best friend appears to be the basic "popular kid" in the school at first, but you get to see more of him fairly quick. MC is dense to an extend (to keep the romance from budding too quickly) but he is pretty squared away majority of the time. I hate dumb main characters, he is not a dumb character.
Overall: I cannot recommend this enough if you enjoy Romance / Comedy anime. It even adds a little drama/mystery in a quirky and fun way. So far the writing and characters are EXTREMELY entertaining. It is already in the top 3 animes of the season for me personally

I usually only write reviews for the less popular anime, but seeing some of the low score reviews on this anime inspired me to write my own review. I honestly do not understand how objectively one could give this anime a low score. This show can stand toe-to-toe with Dr. Stone for anime of the season.
Story: The story is definitely a breath a fresh air with all the isekai and typical shounen anime being pumped out every season. MC lost his family at a young age due to a fire, everyone treats him like a demon (similar to Naruto in the original Naruto anime), and
...
he has joined the 8th Fire Force Squad in order to become a hero and protect innocent people from "infernals." Infernals are citizens who turn into essentially fire zombies that cause destruction. There is definitely a mystery going on with the infernals that keeps the overarching plot interesting.
Art: Absolutely amazing for a shounen type anime, this rivals One Punch Man Season 1. The characters look great, the scenery looks amazing, and the battle scenes are fricking gorgeous. This is not a subjective take, this anime objectively looks great. David Production could earn a name right next to MadHouse if they keep this up.
Sound: Voices fit the character, battle scenes real make you feel the power and raw intensity of the battle ,and the OP and Ending are pretty solid. Something many will go look up on youtube and just listen to. Good season overall for OPs.
Characters: The MC is portrayed to be someone like Naruto (literally seen as a demon), but they gave this guy power that Naruto did not have (at the beginning). MC has some typical quirky moments, but he is largely very well-rounded to be a very solid character. Some of the side characters are cliche, but the great part is that they know they are cliche and play around with it. I really do care about these characters and interested in the characters we know little about.
Overall: Almost 2/3rds of the way through the season, I would definitely classify this as my Anime of the Season and put it in the category for Anime of the Year. I highly recommend this anime to pretty much every type of anime fan out there.

A pleasant surprise and this title may change how most anime fans feel about CG anime. CG has always looked extremely corny in these seasonal anime titles (only a few very high budget anime-esque films have broken this trend). My first thought when seeing this title was that it was going to be another terrible CG anime. I was wrong!
As for the overall story of this anime, I thought it was very well done and kept me guessing. From determining who the actual enemy is to how certain characters feel about different things. This story definitely kept me watching one episode to the next to
...
see what happens. It is also pretty clear that they intend on having a 2nd season to expand.
Now for the part most people are curious about, the art (in this case CG). First and foremost, the battle scenes were amazing, they were not corny and really fit in with the world and gave the viewer a sense of power. It was grounded in the reality of this sci-fi story and never felt super out of place or odd. I think how the CG done in this anime can prove that it can be done well. The only issue I had with the CG is that sometimes I did not like how the characters looked under certain lighting conditions.
No issues with the sound. Battle scenes were well done, like I said before, and the voice actors were great (except maybe one and his VERY SLOW VOICE, I believe they did that on purpose and I do not agree with the decision).
Characters were pretty solid overall. The MC has his stupid MC moments every now and then that all MCs seem to have these days, but he does learn from his mistakes and grows as the show goes on. All the side characters are pretty fleshed out throughout the season as well.
I have always been turned off by CG anime series, but I am glad I gave this one a shot and I would not mind if a couple more anime went this route with this quality.

SSSS Gridman is an interesting anime to review because it is really two different animes in one. One is good, one is... meh.
The first part of SSSS. Gridman is the typical mystery, romance, and slice of life. I find this to be great. The main character has amnesia and is a little goofy at first, but he will grow on you pretty quickly as a decent MC. His best friend is a typical best friend in these types of shows, forgettable, but at least he is not annoying.
The strength of this show is the female cast, particularly the main female girl, Rikka (the love
...
interest) and the "enemy," Akane. Rikka is probably the best girl of the season, very strong female character who does her own thing and not your typical love interest girl who just goes along with whatever the MC wants/likes. Akane could make a run for best girl, though her being the bad guy is putting her at a disadvantage (not really a spoiler because it is stated so early on in the anime).
The mystery is how and why things happening the way they are instead of who is doing what. So far, the mystery is entertaining enough.
The downside to this anime is the action sequences which will remind viewers of the corny old school Power Ranger fights... at the end of each episode where the enemies grow exponentially and the good guys bring out some huge mechanized human looking thing. These fights are corny as hell and majority of the adults who watch this anime will cringe at these sequences. The good part is that they are a very small part of each episode and they do not overstay their welcome.
I enjoy watching this episode mostly for the interactions between each character and to figure out what is going on. If you can get by a 3-5 minute corny Power Rangers-esque fight each episode, I think you will find enjoyment out of this anime.

This show is one of those anime you just want to watch when you sit down and relax. It is not a show that will be on your favorites list by any means, but it does its job I guess.
Story: Nerding guy starts dating the most beautiful girl in the school and is constantly doubting himself
Art and Sound: I thought the art was alright, nothing special in the backgrounds, but the character designs were nice. I really liked the voice actors, especially for the main female character, just something about her voice made me smile. Best friend's voice sucked though.
Character: I will say that I
...
did not have the highest of expectations for this show, but the main character is a pushover that is constantly doubting himself then has moments of "grow the hell up." I absolutely despise the best friend in this show. Probably one of the worst "best friends" in recent anime. The female lead and the other side characters are not too bad, but dear god, I hated the sections with the best friend and his voice was AWFUL.
Overall: It is a light-hearted anime that has its fault, if you hate wimpy main male characters, then this show is not for you. While the "Best friend" is awful, you can bear it for the cute moments throughout each episode. Seriously, you really have to be a big anime fan to find enjoyment out of this.

This anime is pretty good, but it is not for everyone. In the simplest way possible, it could be described as Death Note with more supernatural elements to it. Sure, Death Note had Shinigami's and a special book, but outside of that, it had a realistic setting. B is about a "righteous murderer" that has supernatural abilities. The police are trying to catch the person to bring them to justice while a criminal organization full of people with similar supernatural gifts are trying to capture the person for their own purposes.
Story: Similar to Death Note, it purposely leaves you confused for a bit until the
...
writer decides to let you in on the secret. I felt the story was pretty good, with plenty of twists and turns (some you see coming and some you do not).
Art: You can tell Netflix has some seriously deep pockets and was not constrained. The characters look great, the action scenes are pretty damn good. There is gore in this series, but it never became too much for me. Even as an adult, I am not a big fan of "gore-y" anime, but I was fine watching this.
Sound: Not a fan of the opening song, but the ending song is very good. The music throughout the episodes fit the mood pretty well. For an english VA anime, it is very good. For the most part, the voice acting was great, there are a few characters that have a voice that does not really match their vibe, but they are usually just side characters that will not be there for long periods of time. Seriously though, the English VA is not to be feared here, it is more than watchable.
Characters: I wont say much because it can spoil a lot of things, but I liked majority of the characters. Oddly enough, I felt as though the main character needed more screen time early on. There are no horrible characters here... you know, the ones that you just want to skip every time they come on screen.
Overall: I enjoyed the series and it did remind me a little bit of Death Note. However, I know that Death Note is a very popular anime, so I will say that do not go in expecting a clone or something to the same level as Death Note. It is similar, but the plot twists and mind games are not masterpieces like Death Note had. I will say that if you liked Death Note, give this one a shot. Otherwise, try this if you like crime mysteries sprinkled in with supernatural organizations.

I went in to this anime with high hopes and I came out satisfied. I will admit that I thought I would have trouble getting into a romance anime that was set in a middle school setting, but I was pleasantly surprised and thought it was done very well
Story: The story is very touching and ends on a very well written and well acted finale. This is the type of anime that will stick with you for awhile. "It will hit you right in the feels." (No, that is not a quote from this anime)
Art: I will be honest, it took me a little bit
...
to get used to the art style because it is quite different than most other anime. However, scenary is always gorgeous and after a few episodes, you really come to admire the art style.
Sound: This was my lowest score simply because I felt the voices were quiet and episode 9 (regardless of where I watched it) had serious audio/video sync problems. However, the music really helps here because it always seems to be the right melody at the right time. The opening and ending songs were both pretty good.
Characters: The two main characters are excellent and very memorable. I felt like the side characters were pretty well written and got a decent amount of screen time, EXCEPT for the side character that everyone probably wanted more of; I am not sure why they did not do more with him except the same whole thing with the main character every episode. The shorts after the ending song helped a little bit, but the content regarding this particular character almost seemed "non-canon" and just for fun.
Enjoyment: I watched most of it in one sitting and I was eager to get to the next episode to see what happens next. The writer throws you off your game in the final episode on whether you see a happy ending coming or a sad ending coming. The result: you have to watch it to see for yourself.
Overall: Very good anime, if you enjoy romance anime, then this is a must watch. If you are not big into romance anime, then I dont see this turning you around on the genre.

Well, I never thought I would have mixed emotions on a review. As you can see, I like this manga, but the problem is that I did not realize it was a one-shot. As a one-shot, each section will be pretty quick.
Story: I thought the story was great and this is probably the biggest reason why I have mixed emotions. There is plenty of potential for this story to be expanded upon and I was kind of hoping for it to be continued in some way.
Art: Very nice and clean, the characters looked great. Not really any complaints.
Characters: There is only two characters and both
...
are decent, but it is hard to expand on characters in a one-shot manga. I do believe these characters had plenty of potential if the series was expanded.
Enjoyment: I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was over before I knew it.
Overall: It is great for what it is, a one-shot. It ends making you want more of the story and characters.
