I honestly do not understand the average score the manga has so far (about 7/10 at the time of the review). I was expecting a rushed introduction to characters and the main state of the plot, with exaggerated characters, but what I found was an epic story of interstellar soviets in Gundam Knights.
The fight scenes are intense, the art feels a bit rushed, but it is still great overall !
The main interest here is the plot. Without spoiling too much, our protagonist Azuma wakes up 400 years in the future on a planet after a crash from his starship. He has to understand
...
how to survive there, and how to live with the other inhabitants (who are also Soviets). We are introduced to "Orlans", the knight suits inspired by Gundams. But the story goes deeper, with thoughts of territory expansion, trades and political doctrines. It might sound boring to some, but the way the manga introduces those topics is easy enough for a beginner, or an average person with minimal interest, to understand.
The characters are good, not excellent, but not bad either. I've seen a lot worse. Our protagonist, Azuma, is great. He follows his dream to find back his comrade and to fight for what he stands for, but not in the overly idealistic way some mangas put it. The secondary character are... secondary characters, but they do a good job still. Some bring humor, others hope, and others have ulterior motives that are important to the story.
The only downside I would bring is the unnecessary use of... psycological scenes and nudity to the later chapters (11 especially). But other than that, this manga deserves to be read, and it's not that long.
8/10
