The main character is stupid. Or rather there are too many psychological inconsistencies.
Which is a shame considering the amazing art style, music and premise.
Moreover, every episode leaves you with a bad aftertaste. It is the first anime in my whole life that I felt utterly disgusted by at some point which is saying a lot.

It is very difficult to explain the stupidity of All the characters and storyline without spoiling the story so consider the following scenario:

If the person closest to you dies and you get your revenge by brutally killing the murderer, would you continue living with a smile on your face as ... though this person never died?

Those kind of psychological inconsistencies drove me mad not just once or twice, but EVERY. Single. Episode. That is not even including the main characters, but the most irrelevant side characters, as I do not want to give away how completely illogical the main characters are portrayed.

To be completely honest the anime intrigued me. But that is not enough if you are looking for an anime with brain games, mysteries and actual comprehensible characters. This is my first rant about an anime ever, but perhaps I just went in expecting something that would live up to its reputation and would intrigue me psychologically.

I agree. I agree with both the reviews that give it a 2 and the reviews that give it a 9, as I hated the manhwa as much as I loved it. Therefore, I have never ever had such time reviewing a manga/manhwa/manhua, and I would suggest that you stop reading the reviews even my one and just read it because it's worth it.
If you are curious though bare with me while I explain what is so good and bad with this manhwa.

The best thing about the manga are the characters combined with good storytelling. It is rare to have such 3D in depth ... characters, and this is the reason you stop perceiving them just as characters, but begin to really invest in their fates. This is also the reason why the drama works, and when I say drama I mean real drama. The drama you feel deep inside your heart as if it was you that was in the story and not the MC. The pain, the happiness, all of it all real.

Now for the bad side... How should I put it? It left too much unanswered, but in a bad way. It got us to invest too much in a side character, just so that the story could throw him out later. Some issues remained unsolved, and all the build up just lead to nothing. On the bright side; however, this does not include the characters. All of their actions were consistent and even when they left you wondering why the hell they did something, you could easily understand their viewpoint.

Just a side note, when I say that you should read it for the characters, I am not saying they are likable. Actually most of them are quiet the opposite, and that is what makes them interesting. They are human beings (or vampires) that have emotions, desires, flaws, and their quirks (or are outright crazy - don't say I didn't warn you).

Anyways, please read it. It is something else and this is hard to find these days :).

Have you watched almost all romance animes out there and wondering whether to give this one a shot? Well, this was the case with me and I am very glad I did.

I am not going to write the typical story, character review, but I would rather focus on what makes this anime so unique and enjoyable to watch (I am not talking about the difference in height between the two main characters).

What the story does best is to make you engaged in the main protagonist issues, and when they are finally resolved to be genuinely happy and "screaming with joy." The MC is ... also very realistic and down to Earth and in his portrayal are avoided almost all stereotypes typical for this genre. It is by no means cringe and sweat, which distinguishes it from the painful and unbearable to watch shoujo animes.

This might be my personal opinion, but this is also the first romance anime in which I felt such strong emotion between the main characters about half way through the anime. It build it up in a beautiful way, and by the end of it the chemistry between the two is so tangible that you could touch it. Moreover, this is the first review I write for a romance anime, so it must mean something.

In any case see it for yourself. This is one of those anime you will know whether you like it or not from the first episode.

I hate mangas that are way too cheesy and progress really fast. This manga has a perfectly logical romantic development which is certainly noт dull and ordinary. I love both the main characters and the side characters and and the strong and independent female lead. Moreover, it has this rival theme which makes it very interesting and a hilarious tone which makes you laugh every chapter. However, it also does not forget to have its fair share of cute and adorable moments.

Despite it not being something totally original it is certainly executed perfectly. The main character is a mix of the lead female from ... Kimi ni todoke and Maid-sama and I personally think that so is the male lead. It is not overly dramatic, but it has enough plot to keep it interesting. Moreover, there is interesting character development. Overall, I absolutely loved it!

This series could have easily earned my 1. However, it didn't because it isn't pretending to be something that it isn't, and is definitely not cliche. The girl is stupid and doesn't become smart. The guys are sadistic and cruel and don't fall in love with her or try to be her lover. This doesn't change. The art is beautiful, the plot is fairly boring, I rather hated it, but I still watched it, and I suggest you do it, too, even if it is out of mere curiosity.


Why do I recommend it?
It is bad. However, I do not believe it is a waste of ... time. Do not watch the whole thing. Watch the first episode, and you will know what will happen in all the episodes right to the end. The mood does not change, the story progresses slightly, the characters do not develop. However, it is interesting to see something different, even if it has justly earned the name of an abomination.
