Story: 7/10
Ugh, your usual staple of post-apocalyptic kind of world setting + a handful of young (duh? does it have to be young?) ones who can ONLY save the planet + a gigantic ton of metal that the young ones can only pilot + a race of nearly alien (or not) beings that can destroy shi* everywhere in the world = Sousei no Aquarion. Sounds familiar right? We all have our share of EVA, Raxhephon, Zeorymer, TTGL, etc. experiences and yet they are still popular despite mecha fanatics' swooning over GARness and teamwork blah blah.
Art:8/10
Sunrise did a pretty good job in animating this with
...
artistic European backdrops, beautiful setting sun effects and dazzling flashes of light on transformation scenes and others. Character art ain't too bad too but it did get a bit confusing (I think the graphic change was part of the story) on one episode with that of stick art doodles. :D
Sound:9/10
Beautiful orchestral score in their BGM throughout the series. OP themes are a bit catchy and the ED is hauntingly good to listen at.
Character:7/10
As most super and real robot series, characters must be unique in every way to distinguish their different traits. Aquarion has that but has some elements borrowed from other robot series. What kind of amuses me is Apollonius' character with that of a wild beast and Reika, with her negative and emo way of thinking. The siblings are also good in their character as well as the Shadow Angels especially Toma. ^_^
Enjoyment:8/10
Most mecha fans would come to conclusion that the series itself is just chunks or bits and pieces of other mecha series that are put together. I could agree more but Aquarion has some aspects that are exclusive by itself and is almost a bit above-average than your regular mech anime series. I enjoy the love-hate relationship of the main characters, the personalities of the other crews and even the good mecha artwork of the Aquarion.
Overall: 8/10
This is a good mecha series to start with if you are not much of a mecha fan. Hot-blooded finishing blow shout-outs and the out of this world kind of feeling when combining are some of the *ooohs-aaahs* I have felt after watching this.
Recommend? - To non-mecha fans...yes; probably not much to hardcore fanatics...
Replay Value (Once) - Yeah, just for the heck of the understanding the confusing storyline on their past lives...
(Twice) - Errrr...do replay it if you are bored or haven't watched it for a long time....
(Thrice) - WTF! Too much might get ya...GATTAI SYNDROME! (watch it to find out what it is) :P

Fall Series~ Back to reviewing to art thou...^__^
Story: 6/10
As most harem series being the "sudden girlfriend" approach plus the childhood friend twist makes this series kind of bland and *ugh* overused. After To Love-Ru and countless other same harem series with comedic + ecchi moments...this is as far as this series goes for me. Also redundant are the loli sister, comic one at school and of course...school setting.
Art: 7/10
Artwork is good but with some roughly drawn battle scenes and under-par chibi shots, it needs some improvements on this department. HAL is known to make cutesy animation type but so far, this needs some work.
Sound:
...
6/10
OP and ED themes are catchy but not much charisma to draw much attention to most viewers. BGM and SE from the scenes are also normal with not much spice in it to entice.
Character: 8/10
Probably, this department is the only one that excels on this rating, mainly due to veternan VA being utilized effectively for each of the characters. With the likes of Chiwa Saito, Rie Kugimiya, Ryoko Shiraishi, Eri Kitamura, Lala-san (Haruka Tomatsu) and loli-voiced Mai Goto in the VA line-up, each of them portrayed unique characteristics such as Sanpeita (Eri), Kemeko and Emuemu (Haruka and Chiwa) and the unusual deviation of Rie Kugimiya from tsundere character to a different one for this anime.
Enjoyment: 6/10
At the first few episodes, I admit I was laughing off the jokes and comic situations even with the sexual innuendos and ecchi moments but as it progresses, the comical side slowly fades and becomes repetitive. I'm hoping that the series will finish on a good note since Kemeko DX is just slated for maybe a 13 or 24 episode run.
Overall: 7/10
Kemeko DX was supposed to be a fresh approach for this year's Fall Anime Lineup but with the recent disappointment of To Love-Ru and my epic failure of a rating to Kamen no Maid Guy, we hope that this series would make a turn for the good but I remain pessimistic since most sudden-GF/ecchi/harem series ended up a sour taste in an otaku's mouth.
Recommend? - Maybe to those who want a few good laughs in the beginning...
Replay Value (Once?) - Uhhh, maybe just for the LULZ yeah..
(Twice?) - I don't think its necessary.
A second season might fill in BIG GAPS in the story next time, who knows? ^_^
Thanks for taking time to read. ^__^

AH! Spring Anime! Nothing short of expecting what is good and what is not. Kamen no Maid Guy fell short of mine even if it is still at the middle of airing but I'm pushing through with my review for the heck of it. ^_^
Story:
Story?! What story? This series got the common "heiress/heir" plot with more ecchi moments at the start and starting to get lackluster nearing the end. Random moments are also imminent as the heroine tries to cope up to the cheesy but "fun" high school life as most anime series would use these days but with the addition of maid servants hired
...
as "bodyguards" until the heroine would come of age to inherit the fortune much akin to Hanaukyo Maid Tai.
Art:
MADhouse animated this one and for me, the animation is pretty average to earlier works recently like Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro. No fancy artwork much used and pretty much consistent until now.
Sound:
Honestly, the OP/ED gave this one plus points for me. Kotoko did the OP and the song was upbeat and catchy while the ending is funny and heavy-metal influenced. Voice acting is average with the exception of Kogarashi. His voice is perfect for being the "Maid Guy" like being sinisterly evil but funny when caught in hilarious ecchi moments or jokes.
Character:
Boing! That much pretty sums it up for characters. Big-busted and not your above-average high school student, the main character (Naeka) kind of bores me with her attitude and traits. Same goes with other characters like her brother (NEET and likes to play eroges), a mysterious transfer student slash loli with her maids too. Particularly, only Kogarashi and Fubuki (the other maid) made good impressions for me.
Enjoyment:
Well, to be honest, I did enjoy this series at the start but it has begun to bore me approaching the end (slated for 12-episodes only as of this writing). One may enjoy the normal ecchi scenes and moments early on but it drags the storyline even more due to just an everyday episode in the life of the heroine.
Overall:
Give this anime a shot IF YOU ARE BORED or TO PAST TIME WITH but stay away from it if you are fed up with linear stories of ecchi/inheritance/maids/high school life type of anime series. The series looks promising if the story decides to take a turn for the good at this point in the middle but I'm keeping my hopes up for this series to end good...*crosses fingers*. :D

After all the hype and yearnings of this "harem with notorious amount of fanservice" series is all out of steam, time to let it all out... :P
Story: 6/10
Not much of a unique or original story as it this one picked up the usual and cheesy "school-type HAREM" feel with a monster twist in itself. It would have been a good one if added elements can be inserted to make it feel special in some ways to veteran otaku viewers thus definitely lacking in a meaningful plot.
Art: 8/10
GONZO, GONZO, GONZO. As I expected, the story may be bad in a way but the art work and
...
styling was done pretty much above average. In some of the end episodes, the quality improved a tad bit but noticeable.
Sound: 8/10
Nana Mizuki did a good part in making up for the OST of the series. OP theme is upbeat and catchy while the ED is mysterious but vibrant. BGMs throughout the series is good too with the addition of off-beat humor and hints of naughtiness.
Character: 7/10
Love em or hate em, there is no stopping why most people adore Moka and hate Tsukune or the other way around. Character development in some of the characters are a big ? since more questions are being thrown. Voice actors are good but some (cheesy?) dialogs can always be heard all the way till the end that may be a bit irritating and repetitive.
Enjoyment: 6/10
As a change of viewing habits, I was drawn in by the fanservice but the story really disappointed me. I was expecting that in the end, it may all end in a "bang" but a whimper of many unanswered questions. All that comes to mind that this anime brings is like a washing machine..."wash, rinse, dry...then repeat" XD
Overall: 7/10
I could have lowered the score for this but I do think that since the anime will air a 2nd season, they can improve the plot very well as not to disappoint fans alike. If you like copious amounts of fanservice and pantsu shots, well...go for other anime series like Najica Blitz Tactics or Agent Aika for action and Negima (1st) if you want harem + comedy + fanservice galore. R+V and GONZO really did screw up for once but who knows once the 2nd season airs. Happy pantsu viewing-chuuu~ ^__^

First time I heard this series, I was hesitant to watch it due to the fact "shinigami" or other death-related themes are proliferative in the anime market these days but boy...was I wrong. :D
Story: 9/10
The story is well-made with "death letters" being the main dish. No beating around the bush since all storyline will end with each episode in the early parts. Although at first, it may be bit confusing, especially Fumika's story but will eventually be revealed later on.
Art: 8/10
Not as appealing or dazzy such as Shakugan no Shana but J.C. Staff made good use of the artwork and styling. Some episodes however are
...
not consistent with the animation quality but only in fair details.
Sound: 8/10
BGM done in the series was good and very much appeal. ALI Project made use of their stylistic approach for the OP theme making it haunting and adds a mystery around the series. The ED theme also was done fairly but not compared how the OP was done.
Character: 9/10
Character styles was done nicely in good amounts such as Fumika, Chiaki and especially Fumika's father character of evil but pure intention. Character development leaves a fair amount to the series due to it being short thus focusing mainly on the main character (Fumika). Voice acting is good especially Fumika and Kanaka.
Enjoyment: 9/10
Considering "death" as one of the factors in the series, the average otaku might be intimidate at first due to some "controversial" topic such as child abuse, suicide, and school bullying. Nevertheless, this series aims to expose the dark side of humans and how people came to notice that death may be the answer.
Overall: 9/10
Although the sensitive topics the series is shedding light on might be a cause of disbelief and confusion, this anime did aim to teach us how fragile human feelings are. This is a highly recommended short anime series to watch if you are looking for psychological and rare slice-of-life-but-dark theme. Happy watching! ^__^

At first I was baffled what kind of anime is S&W and would it leave an impression on me when I watched it. Happily enough, it did and with a fresh genre that it introduced for today's generation.
Story: 10/10
Making a breakthrough using "economy" and "trade" as the main theme, it is a fresh approach that was injected to the mostly underrated medieval theme anime series without the fancy mahou or sword-and-damsels-in-distress approach. The story would be slow at first but will pick-up for most 1st time watchers.
Art: 9/10
IMAGIN studio did a great work in making this series to suit a medieval atmosphere for the viewer.
...
The graphic and art is very good with the golden fields of wheat to the dark forests of the countryside that makes one to be fully absorbed into it.
Sound: 9/10
As I expected, orchestral music was used to simulate the theme for the anime and it was very good although it was a bit tedious that they would re-use them most of the time as the series progresses. The OP and ED theme fitted the theme and gives you a mellow and warm feeling.
Character: 9/10
HORO~! Well, who could love or hate her? Lawrence too and some of the other characters in the series. Although character development was not much of a factor, their expressions and attitude are enough to entice us to either love OR hate them in a way. ^__^
Enjoyment: 9/10
I rarely enjoy a SHORT anime series such as S&W but it did for me. Most of the feeling comes from Lawrence and Horo arguing to each other and of course the trades of being a merchant. What lacks maybe is more romanticism since medieval themed ones like this is all about romance.
Overall: 9/10
A great series BUT TOO DAMN SHORT, Spice and Wolf is definitely a very good series to watch not because of its exquisite art or marketing, but how the author was able to create a fresh genre of "economic anime" that would surprise even for me who watches them for a long time.

Shana is back and badder than ever~
But the storyline for the 2nd series has dramatically changed and some are even confusing to relate with. The series will pick up slow then move better as it goes on.
Character development is a plus factor in the 2nd series. More characters are progressed while some are given enough scenes and also a part of the plot.
The OST still manages to gain a good appeal but personally I liked the 1st series' OST than this because of not being able to sync with the plot and character.
Overall, the 2nd series is a must to actually comprehend the time line
...
of the story as it goes on. 1st time watchers SHOULD get the 1st series before moving up to this. In the end, I would prefer a 3rd Shana series to come soon as to satisfy my fixation to this awesome series. ^__^

Obviously an underdog years before, SnS made it big later on after its initial release. The story at first my confuse some 1st time viewers but later on will come to understand it quickly as flashbacks and narration in the series are imminent.
I like the OST because of how it delivers and blends well with the series progression. The artists themselves are all deserving to be included in the OST.
Uncanny and hilarious situations are also delved into the storyline which makes it even more enjoyable to watch.
Overall, this is not your regular girls-with-swords-bash-monsters anime series. SnS for once have broken beyond the regular status with
...
its cute characters, flashy fight scenes, comedic situations and a deep storyline to boot.
