Finally, today, I completed watching "Chained Soldier." I had read the manga a long time ago, before the anime adaptation began airing. I thought it would be interesting to revisit the story through the anime. However, after watching the entire season, I must admit I'm disappointed.
When I started reading the manga, around a year ago, I had hopes for a compelling storyline. However, after delving into it, I found myself encountering repetitive content in each chapter. There seemed to be a lack of character development, which made it hard for me to get invested in the story. While I understand that sometimes it takes time

for a plot to unfold, after 25 chapters, I expected more progress.
As for the anime adaptation, it fell short of my expectations. The pacing felt rushed, with numerous scenes cut short, ultimately damaging any chance for proper character development. Additionally, the animation quality was lackluster, failing to captivate me visually. The ecchi scenes, which could have added some excitement, were heavily censored, diminishing my enjoyment even further.
Comparing the two mediums, I would say the manga is the better option. Despite its flaws, the artwork remains commendable, providing some redeeming qualities. However, I wouldn't necessarily recommend either to someone unless they have ample free time and a strong interest in the genre.
Given my disappointment with the first season, I have little hope for a second season. It's unfortunate, but I doubt the series will improve significantly without addressing these issues.

After binge-watching three seasons and the movie, I decided to read only the final chapter of the manga, "177 Summer Festival." The repetitive nature of Takagi teasing Nishikata became apparent during my binge-watching, and the manga's content seemed to follow the same pattern. While I checked out a few manga chapters to see if it was worth investing more time, it didn't feel compelling. Reading weekly might have offered a different experience, but the content appeared unchanged.
Spoiler:
My disappointment peaked when, after 176 chapters, Nishikata suddenly confesses his love for Takagi at the summer festival. The impact was minimal, If he had confessed earlier, it might

have added depth to their love story, but as it stands, there's not much to explore.
Conclusion:
if you're planning to watch or read Takagi-san in a binge, I wouldn't recommend it as you might find it boring, like I did. However, if you consume one or two chapters weekly, you'll likely enjoy it more. Takagi San is a good manga, and and I'd suggest giving it a chance, especially if you enjoy slice-of-life stories.

I recently indulged in a Chinese anime for some casual entertainment on Crunchyroll. Despite the absence of Japanese dub, which I anticipated, the switch to Chinese felt odd after being accustomed to Japanese dub for so long. Opting for English dub proved to be a middle-ground experience, with my previous encounter being the 2022 Naruto dub. My anime journey has now spanned over 9,596 episodes.
In a nutshell, this anime follows a familiar pattern, resembling others I've watched countless times. However, the final two episodes delivered an exhilarating experience, reminiscent of the intensity found in series like Mob Psycho 100 and Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion.
...
The character's descent into berserk mode added a thrilling dynamic, making it worth a watch for those seeking enjoyable pastime content.
Yet, the anime is not without its flaws. The sound direction, management, and editing left much to be desired. Unlike even the worst anime with commendable sound quality, this one fell below average. The auditory experience significantly hindered my overall enjoyment, overshadowing the animation's mediocrity.
Speaking of animation, it can be deemed passable, lacking any distinctive features. While not extraordinary, it fulfills its purpose without standing out.
In conclusion, this Chinese anime serves well for casual entertainment, especially if you're seeking a break. However, the subpar sound quality may be a hindrance, and the animation, while adequate, doesn't bring anything groundbreaking to the table. The final episodes, though, manage to elevate the overall experience, leaving a lasting impact. If you're looking for a light watch with occasional moments of brilliance, this anime might just fit the bill.
