Binged this in 2019 at a friend's house, I love anime cooking scenes and food presentation but then the ecchi stuff happened. My friend kinda just turned to me and said "That happens sometimes". Sometimes? More like every episode, I just wanted to see drawings of food what the fuck lmao. Honestly the ecchi scenes are the only thing that ruin the show, why do tentacles have to grab a young girl because she doesn't like squid or a transforming rice assaulting the food critic. This anime is dogshit, I only watched it because my ex wanted me to catch the episodes weekly with him and I even felt obliged to keep up with the manga. It's just some horny dude getting bullied by a younger girl, they're obviously in love but don't act on it so it's just awkward to watch. The sexualisation of this teenage girl is also bleh. It's just a recap with some rewritten scenes. Not much going for it. The new scenes are a mixed bag, when they rewrite important moments in the show to save time it's usually for the worse. It's really funny Soichiro just dies offscreen because they didn't have the Mafia story arc or that L meets Light in a theatre he rented out instead of the iconic confrontation at the College entrance ceremony (shame).
The Shinigami Realm scenes, L's funeral, L's monster speech, Mikami's killing spree and the Task Force finding Light's body were really good scenes that added upon the original series. Other than that though, ...

Watched this for a YouTube script I'm working on, so many regrets.
Gua Gua constantly cries, Miao Le Xing has no braincells, the other characters have no personality except for the parents since they're literally copies of Richard and Nicole except Miao Cheng Gong is just stupid and Chun Ni is strict. Nothing charming or expanded upon. Most of the episode plots are just a mix of Gumball episode plots into a new one and incredibly boring to watch.
