Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 2nd Season Part 2 fall short off its excellent Part 1 for me. I don't know what happened to the quality of the dialogues in this part of the season. The thriller aspect of it being taken away due to a certain event in a story surely shouldn't affect the conversations flow this much. Re:Zero series has proven to be able to solve the problems the characters has just by conversations in its previous installments, but it felt forced most of the time here. Perhaps the constant use of "this character acts like this because of what happened in the ... distant past so lets talk it out" puts me off a little. The trials could've been done more interestingly but well I'm not going to complain further since at least it did its job in telling the story completely because these 12 episodes do really serve as a closure for the first part of the season rather than adding more major conflicts to the story. 2nd season as a whole weren't extremely impressive because of this Part 2. However for the development of a few major characters this season was needed this hence why its set up that way so I'll be waiting for the next one and see what direction will they take this series to.

As an action sports anime, Giant Killing failed miserably. There's simply not enough animated action for it to be super enjoyable and entertaining. They barely show the ball. The animations is subpar and the pacing is all over the place. Its without question a poor adaptation. Many dialogues should've been cut and replaced with on the pitch action but knowing the studio its not surprising at all they're incapable of doing something creative. The only things DEEN did right were the art style and music. Very uplifting and energetic OST & OP.

Despite all that Giant Killing wasn't all bad. It succeeded in portraying what ... club football is all about. This is due to the writer's excellent understanding of the sport. From the fans, hooligans, players, staffs, to the managing board they're all just shown as passionate. How a team reacts to defeats, setbacks, bad dressing room is pretty believable. In football, struggling teams don't magically find their form back after winning a single game. There has to be consistency. Players psychological struggles, the hardship of being a competitive professional footballer... Giant Killing nailed it all. Many football anime rarely succedeed on these aspects. So from a football fan myself I think Giant Killing deserved a praise for trying a semi realistic approach on a football anime. Imagine if it had a better studio.
