Lovely Complex is my favorite anime ever.

Yes, a lot of people might argue that there are tons and tons of anime a lot better than LoveCom but listen, the amount of joy that this anime has brought me throughout the years is just unmatched. The first time I watched it, I was probably 12 years old and re-watching it ten years after, it's even better than I remembered and I can say without any hesitation that yes, this anime is my all time favorite.

Story 8/10
I gave it 8 out of 10 for the story, because it is not extremely unique. A very highly energetic girl ... with a height complex falls in love with a boy who is much smaller than her. Would give the plot 9 for this storyline but the only thing that made me not do that is Risa's character development into a submissive female character that I see in almost every shoujo anime. But I'm glad that despite that part of her character didn't overshadow her unique funny personality that I really adore.

Art 9/10
As someone who prefers older art to newer, this is one of the art styles that I absolutely adore. Gives off the nostalgic vibe, is really heartwarming and kind. Literally warms my soul just looking at the art.

Sound 10/10
I play the soundtracks almost every single day, it makes me THAT happy. I don't think I need to say more about this. The sound just fits the anime mood PERFECTLY. Oh, and also SHOUGANEEZE!! lol

Character 9/10
I've already talked about the problems I had with Risa's character and of course, none of the other characters are perfect as well, but I don't know, it's just the way they carry themselves make their flaws perfect to me. The biggest part of their charm for me is their Kansai dialect that brings out totally different colors in them and they literally feel like real people to me.

Overall 10/10
Just because, I adore this anime with it's flaws and flawless parts. The comedy is top notch for me, makes me laugh every single time and it doesn't get boring, even after a decade. LoveCom is my comfort show and I will be coming back to it over and over again.

They don't make animes like this anymore and it makes me really sad. LoveCom will forever hold a special precious place in my heart.

At first, when this anime was announced, I was like "meh, that's gonna be a stupid story", and I don't even know why I thought like that. Then, when the first episode came out, I didn't even bother to finish watching it, because the art style of the characters didn't really catch my eye.

BUT

Oh man, do I regret everything I've mentioned above, HELL YES, I DO. Just finished watching all the released episodes in one-breath, I'd say.
First of all, I'd like to point out the story of this series. This anime isn't your typical school-romance shoujo fluff stuff (idk why i wrote such a long ... descr. lol). It's really weird to watch, tbh, but it's satisfying A F, because the way that whole story flows is just amazing, well, at least for me. You get a little bit of drama, a bit of comedy, a bit of fluff, a bit of romance, a bit of everything that will make your watching process soothing, relaxed and enjoyable!

Secondly, I'd also like to outline the characters.
The main character: Not my THE most favorite female character ever, but I surely do like her. I especially love how brave she is, I didn't expect her to be so stubborn as well lol that really adds some spice, I'd say, to her personality. Also, somehow reminds me of Chiyuki, from Death Parade. Idk if it's because of looks or kinda similar past, but, oh well, I loved Chiyuki and I like Akira as well!
Now, moving on to my THEEEEE most favorite character of the show, Kondou! Oh boy, I'm in love with this man with the very first seconds of his appearance in the episode (no wonder, why Akira fell for him lmao). He's so funny and nice and kind and adorable I cant with him. Such a supportive and nice boss, wish every adult was like him lol He really stands out for me the most in this series.

The way he accepted everything and how nice he still approaches Akira, really touched dem heartstrings of mine.

Anyways, I really recommend you to watch this series, if you want to have a chill, relaxed and fluffy evening with a cup of hot chocolate :< I'll be totally waiting for the next episodes to be aired.
