There exists a powerful demon god than can slain by six powerful warriors blessed by the seal of brave. The only problem is that there's a impostor among them. Rokka no yuusha bills itself as a fantasy mystery anime, quite the rare combination. Mystery is a genre usually assigned to historical, contemporary, or sci-fi settings. Even when fantasy series have elements of mystery, it usually won't be the main theme.
Our story centers itself in Adlet Mayer, a loud and arrogant redhead who constantly proclaims to be the strongest man in the world. His strength comes from his wits rather than brawn. He and
...
the other braves assemble inside a mountain cave only to find a seventh brave. Conflict quickly breaks out and each one of them becomes a potential traitor .
It was fun seeing the mystery on the 7th brave unravel but it quite honestly dragged out for too long. RNY only has 12 episodes so the entirety of the show is spent searching for the traitor rather than killing the demon god. The anime feels like a prologue to a story that never was. I don't know how faithfully this anime adapts the novel but having the narrative get sidetracked so early on is a bad way to write a series .
Two characters I particularly disliked were Fremy and Mora, the former moreso because she's a karma Houdini. Mora is supposed to be the wise one of the group but had a adamant belief Adlet is the traitor based in her own leap in logic. Her reasoning made little sense and there's no reason for her to accuse solely him when there's an assassin and serial killer on the team. She goes as far as too manipulate the others to attack Adlet and refuses to back down even when her poor logic and gets exposed.
Fremy is my most hated type of character. She does horrific actions and faces no consequences for them. She's responsible for killing multiple innocent braves in her past but adlet protects her because " she's one of us". That piss poor reasoning really dampened the respect I had for Adlet but he's still the best character here. Fremy feels no remorse for what she did and said plot point quickly gets brushed aside. It's ludicrous how the cast could be so comfortable hanging around a serial killer. The narrative seems to think her tragic backstory of having an abusive mother can excuse her actions but that kind of logic is beyond childish. Tired of watching shows that don't know how heavy murder is .
The others are mostly meh. There's an assassin and little girl who's in the teams but they don't really stand out and their character designs are so bland. Nashetania wins my love with her perfect bunny girl character design and her loyal knight Goldof brings in fan service with his gender-bent black rock shooter attire. The two make a nice pair of eye candy and their interactions were always fun. Nashetania is the up beat princess who's a bit ignorant on how the world works and Goldof is Mr muscle who love his princess and his answer to everything is usually violence.
Rokka No Yuusha had the unfortunate fate of being animated by a low budget small name studio, leading to some hideous CGI monsters amidst some shoddy animation. I've seen psp games with better graphics and the terrible CG really messed up Nashetania since her sword attacks are always horribly rendered. Would animating actual swords cost too much money and effort as opposed to weird silver spikes?
Another glaring flaw is how utterly underutilized it's Meso-american setting is. Fantasy series are European based 99.99 percent of the time and Japanese or Chinese based if its anime, completely ignoring the other cultures of the world. The meso-american setting is really only apparent in the first episode and the cast are ridiculously pale skinned European looking. We could've finally gotten a Mayan based fantasy but any meso lore to be found here is simply superficial icing on the not so well done cake. This flaw doesn't influence my rating but it certainty shows japan has it's head stuck up it's homogeneous ass.
After several episodes of our heroes fighting over whodunit, Adlet reveals in the impostor is none other than Nashetania ! Certainly didn't see that one coming and I don't mean that in a " Wow you got me!" type of way. There were no hints or clues to this reveal beside from Nashetania briefly acting psycho in one episode. We find out her motive is to create harmony between the human and demons by reviving the demon god, even if it means sacrificing thousands of people. A villain who's so innocent and pure hearted they can't see their own vileness is a interesting concept but we barely get know about her before the show ends. The anime has the audacity to end things off by having a cow costumed girl show up at the last minute to join the heroes on their journey to kill the demon god. The cast barely even react to it and accept it as they head off. All that struggle and conflict over who was the seventh brave turned out to be for nothing. Overall,I'm gonna have to
give this a 6.5/10. There were definitely some good concepts and characters to keep interest but not enough to genuinely make me excited. I recommend it if you're in the mood for a mystery with a unique setting but don't expect much from this.

Narutaru was beneficial enough to have been made in an era where deconstruction series was gaining traction. If it were to made now, it'd probably be labeled as edgy without any mention of the actual quality of the story. It's notable that the genre being deconstructing is the Mon( Digimon, pokemon, etc) genre. Unlike magical girl and mecha shows of today, Mon anime are still generally fluffy and childish so a darker take on the genre was definitely in order.
Everything seems to be pretty standard at first. Protagonist Shiina meets a shadow dragon she names hoshimaru and quickly bonds with it. They go flying
...
together and have fun adventures. For about one episode. She meets a boy who wants to use his shadow dragon to kill anyone he deems useless to society to create a better world. His sick grandmother is on the list. Things end badly and Shiina soon loses her innocence.
To give a little backdrop on the creator Morioh Kitoh, he's pretty much a nihilist that rivals gen urubuchi in cruelty. His other works include a giant robot that steals the life force of children to destroy the multiverse and a psychic who mass murders anyone who drives irresponsibly. He's that type of guy.
The manga is definitely a character-driven tale that dwells deep into the psyche of highly disturbed children. You have Akira who has depression and suicidal tendencies, Aki Honda who raped a girl with a test tube and the girl in question who snaps and goes in a killing spree. You could say that all of this bleakness is a bit too much but honestly, it felt refreshing. Mon series are generally really cheesy with bland one more characters and a story that only exists to sell merchandise. Narutaru breaks the mold and presents characters who are multi-faceted and lifelike. Contrary to popular belief, children aren't always innocent and they can be just as cruel as adults.
One major gripe I have with the manga is the art. Morioh sure can write but his art really isn't winning any awards that are for sure. Character designs are bland and minimalist. I admit the military paraphernalia is drawn in extensive detail and the dragons have cool designs but that's about it. There are other manga artists that can do sketchy manga art perfectly but Moriah isn't one of them.
I also wasn't too particularly fond of the second half of the manga. It drops elements of deconstruction and character drama to replace it with military affairs. I understand the writer is a military nut but having chapters littered with walls of text of JSDF members reacting to the shadow dragon was just so tedious. It would've been better if the plot focused solely on the children and how their actions affect their environment.
I highly recommend anyone who's curious to please read the manga. It's dark but not pointlessly dark. It's a thought-provoking social commentary on the nature of humans and how far their cruelty can go. There's an anime adaptation that isn't as good buts still a fun watch. Even if it's unlikely I'd to see the anime get a remake with a bigger budget and completely adapt the manga. For similar works, check out bokurano, devil survivor and selector infected wixoss.

The battle tournament/ survival game genre is something that always catches my interest due to it's massive potential. It's a quick and sure-fire way to have epic battles, dynamic characters and a thrilling ride of suspense. Even an average writer could make a good survival story. A terrible writer, however, can only produce garbage. Hand shakers could very well be the worst anime to Grace this genre.
Let's get straight to the elephant in the room: the art and animation. I don't understand how Gohands( what is it with Japan and weird names?) Could produce something as beautiful as k project then make this dumpster fire.
...
The show tried so hard to be advant garde by combining 2d and 3d animation but the director hadn't the slightest clue what to do. The CG is painfully poorly rendered to the point there are ps2 games with better graphics There's also the poorly handled camera that just spins around without any real meaning. I'm guessing the director was going for a cinematic feel but it felt like the show was made by a child playing with his phone. Viewers are bombarded with oversaturated rainbow vomit colors you can find on a bad Wattpad faction cover. More colors don't mean better art If there's no rhyme or reason put into it. Some people even claimed to have gotten nauseous from these pathetic visuals. I'll admit the actual character designs were good and I liked the outfit worn by the mc. His jacket is chic and looks good enough to be sold in fashion retails.
The soundtrack was completely dull. Not a single song stuck out to me and I forgot every piece of music as soon as it ended. I understand not every anime can get that Iwasaki Taku or Hiroyuki Sawano soundtrack but at least have something noteworthy in the audio-visual department to distract viewers from the clusterf*ck story. I liked the voice acting in the English dub and I would've never watched this boring show with subtitles so that's one positive I guess.
Time to finally get to the real meat of the show. Or maybe it's vegan meat cause it's completely bland boring and a utter waste of time.
( Cue dramatic narration in the voice of Optimus Prime)
Fierce opponents from all across Japan battle to enlist in a legendary tournament to own the right to talk to God. The battles are daunting and survival is not guaranteed. Only one boy and his basic bitch girlfriend may come out supreme.
( End credits)
And that's the entire show in one paragraph. Episodes either have bland mc and basic bitch go on a date or have them battling other fighters. Let's take a quick look at the setup. Why are the weapons here called nimrods? I understand the old definition means mighty Hunter( I researched it so the show indirectly taught me a new meaning) most people would immediately think of an idiot. What's also idiotic is why the area these teens fight in is called a ziggurat. It's another biblical term that refers to a temple. These people are never in a temple so calling an empty space a ziggurat is stupid and pretentious. I just know the writers thought they were being clever with the naming. Anime has this weird fascination with using religious terms simply to look cool without any thought put into it.
There isn't a lot to say about the story since this show is as superficial as it gets. It's utterly cluttered with archetypes and badly animated fights. Let's make a list of the cliches shall we
• Emotionless quiet girl
• quirky scientist
• Laid back parents who don't question the obvious
• sadist and masochist duo
• pop idol
• a loli who's actually an adult
There's more but you get the point. The dynamic between the characters felt drier than the devil's ass. Tazuna wants to protect hiyori cause she looks like his dead sister and hiyori wants......??????? Other contestants include a brocon sister who wants to be by her brother's side forever, a pop idol who wants to remain in fame and a businesswoman who wants to be taken seriously. With motives and personalities so boring, it's hard to care who wins and losses.
What's worse is that the entire tournament was for nothing. Tazuma wins but he never talked to God. Thanks for cementing your complete lack of skill dear writers. we never get to find out anything about this god and the show ends.
I don't recommend watching hand shakers. You might have fun laughing at how bad it is but the atrocious visuals and lackluster cast make it hard to sit through.

By now, many people have likely heard of the show that went down as the greatest Trainwreck of 2017. It was a glorious failure that was simultaneously annoying and hilarious. The concept of a survival game is simple enough that a average writer could make a entertaining work from it but only a truly horrible writer could mess it. getting flashbacks to my handshakers review Ousama game is what happens when you adapt the manga of a novel written by an author without a single shred of talent or slef awareness. He even named the mc after himself!
Ousama game is weird in that it
...
adapts two manga at the same time. The sequel manga is the majority of the anime while the original manga is adapted in the form of long flashbacks. Trying to adapt two manga in only 12 episodes was bound to lead to jumbled narrative that feels like it has ADHD.
Being a survival game the story is naturally full of suspense to attact viewers. Seeing how the students will react to their given challenge is always fun and the stakes were always high. Getting orders from an anonymous person via phone with the promise of death is a solid premise. This would've been a fun show had it not been for the dogs shit characters
Let's talk about the characters cause dear God these are the worst written characters to Grace the face of the earth. Since this is character driven, these assholes are the plot. Everyone here is a utter dumbass who go out of their way to antagonize one another. From the original ousama game, there's this mysterious bitch who knows the secret behind the game but refuses to tell anyone. She just waits while the others die off while she acts like the smug piece of shit she is . There was also the asshole bully who ordered some guy to kill himself as a king's order and gets suprised when the boy actually dies. A girl kills herself when she loses a game, not knowing that the punishment was harmless. To top it all off, Some truly dumbass bitch gets to decide her own king's order and she orders herself to touch the king .
This was based off the extremely weak assumption that the king was definitely in her class. Unsurprisingly she dies like the fool she is. It takes a special breed of stupid to make characters like these. Aki Honda takes the Cake by perhaps being my most hated character in all of fiction. Even outranking bakugou from that melodramatic show mha. She introduced herself as being a kind hearted and upbeat girl who immediatly likes nobuwaki but goes from 0 to 100 as soon as ousama game starts. She immediately morphs into a cartoonishly evil alpha bitch who watches in delight as her classmates die. The students see her act like the vessel of Satan multiple times but some still trust her for some reason. Like her friend who saved her cause Aki was nice to her once. The heartless witch could've been dead but no. Some dumb bitch had to save her.
Then it's revealed the entire reason she acts like a bitch is so the other won't be hurt when she's dies. This is the dumbest fucking ass backwards logic I ever heard. She tortured everyone without remorse and caused them far more grief than her death would've caused. And the whole evil transformation happened at the snap of a finger without any build up. A+ acting skills for Aki but her performance ruined everything for everyone.
The reveal behind ousama game is what cementee this show as a train wreck. The whole thing was set up by a intelligent virus that forces the body to kill itself! Sound like the type of crap m night shamaylon would write. How on Earth a virus could force the human body to combust, send out text messages and other bs is beyond me. The plot twist is just too mind boggling stupid to take seriously. It wouldve been better off as a mystery.
Ousama game's only saving grace is the opening song, feed the fire by coldrain. Dear God was that song amazing!! An all English hardrock song that easily surpassed the entire show
" This is the end
This is the end
You're not along in this my friend."
Despite everything, this is still a incredibly enjoyable anime due to how bad it is. Really hoping for a season 2.

Being made from the creator of the utter monstrosity that is future diary , big order was bound to fail from the start. It's hard to find a writer who fails so hard at telling a story without any form of self awareness. It's somehow even more badly written than future diary but thankfully less annoying. The anime adaptation only expands on the flaws by adding new scenes that are even worse than what happened in the manga. This is what happens when you hire the creator of boku no pico( I'm dead serious) to write the script .
To be fair, the series did have
...
potential to be good. Eiji accidentally caused the apocalypse ( through a dumbly worded wish) and he has to cope with it as well as having to take care of his sister. Could've been a nice character driven drama but nope The first episode/chapter was strong but things just go downhill from there.
A character named Rin appears who's literally a dumber version of yuno but with a homicidal rage against mc. While her wanting to get revenge on eiji after her parents died in the apocalypse, that's her all there is to her character. She acts angry and homicidal towards eiji whenever she's not having forced as hell ship tease moments with him.
Nothing about the story or characters really stood out. Things just happen and the audience is given no reason to care. How is it even possible to make a cast of super powered individuals be boring as a brick wall? At least the cast of future diary could evoke emotion in me even if it was mostly annoyance.the only names here I remember are eiji,Rin and Sena and none of them are interesting at all. These people are just archetypes and tools used to move the garbage plot forward. There's a character called Daisy who's essentially a goddesses but nobody questions her existence and her purpose is very poorly defined. Another character is iyo who gets pregnant when eiji touches her ears and tries to rape him in the anime cause she fell in love with his basic bland unseasoned chicken personality in a heartbeat. Said attempted rape never gets mentioned again after it happens. Not only is it offensively bad but if the genders were reversed, I'm sure male iyo would be portrayed as a villain so seeing her get off Scott free is annoying.
The anime also thought it was a good idea to add disgusting incest subtext that wasn't in the manga. Eiji and sena have a implied sex scene and the show wants viewers to think they're in love. This was nothing more than the director and scriptwriter pleasuring themselves seeing as how said incest does absolutely nothing to develop the two and is never referenced again. Again the lack of self awareness is crazy.
Readers aren't given good explanations on character motivation at all. I read the manga and watched the anime but I still don't understand the reasoning behind most of these characters. A few people wanna take over the world and that's about it . Why has noone made a wish to undo the great destruction. Daisy grants wish to random people and not one of them at least thought of restoring the world? When nobody has any solid motives or decent personalities, the plot will obviously bomb. The story wouldn't have been this bad if the writer didn't try to make it complex. I would much rather have read a JoJo esque battle shonen than this poor excuse of a story. At least then it would've been popcorn entertainment. The story makes no sense because things just happen without clearly defined reasons so the entire series is just a narrative non sequitur..
The most positive thing about the series was definitely the stands er I mean orders. Many people complained that the powers were too op( they're really not) and were confusing. One person even called eiji one of the strongest characters in fiction which honestly made me laugh. Op powers are good when handled well but everything is shit here.
Eiji can control the environment and people around his perimeter with little restrictions yet he always gets his ass kicked. There's literally a 100 of ways he can win any given battle and fails to use any of them. He can condense the air to make a shield but rarely uses that ability and never uses it to suffocate his enemies. He never commands enemies to attack themselves. To make it even worse,. His power is a weakened form of his maximum potential and in the manga he can fuse with other orders to get even stronger. Even then he still gets his ass handed to him😶😑🙄. The sheer lack of creativity from both the creator and character is just marvelous. How is it even possible to be this incompetent?
The other characters are no better. Leader guy has a rip-off order of kumagawa misogi's all fiction from medaka box. Fact from fiction ( even the names are similar) let's him negate events from reality. Unlike kumagawa who marvelously screws over the main cast from his manga with his ability, leader guy doesn't advance the plot at all and does not have any noteworthy battles. You also have a guy who can atomize anything, a girl who shoots lasers, a man who can brainwash others and a terrorist who controls rocks. Besides from the terrorist chick, none of these people use their abilities in innovative ways. The writer could've taken lessons from JoJo, one piece and even law of ueki( so underrated) when it comes to writing superpowers.
The endings of both anime and manga are around just as bad but the manga might be even worse. The anime has a inconclusive ending where the world no longer hates eiji and he just goes to to school. That's it. The climactic battle was him using the full power of his order to manipulate abstract concepts to create a world where Sena can be happy. I'm sure the writers didn't intend for eiji's last order to be as op as I just described but it Is. He wishes for something abstract and it comes true which implies he would be able to manipulate other concepts. And yet , he doesn't do anything about the rundown world he lives in. For a post apocalyptic setting, the apocalyptic event barely had any influence on the characters or plot.
The manga comes up with a dumbass plot twist that sena was the one who caused the great destruction and eiji was just covering up for her. She turns evil and tries to destroy the world cause she's evil. Eiji refuses to let anyone kill the potential mass murderer and constantly protects her. Did I mention Rin and eiji and kinda low key dating at this point? Eiji faces sena in a anticlimactic battle followed by a 1 year timeskip where their current date is unknown. And people thought Naruto had a bad ending..... With how abrupt and lazily put together the ending was, I can't tell if the manga was cancelled or the creator lost interest. Both options seem highly likely.
With it's bland characters, nonsensical plot and poorly thought out powers, big order is a utter clusterfuck if a show that continues to fade into obscurity. Even having a big name creator wasn't enough to keep it within the public eye. I was hoping for a so bad it's good experience but this was just hot garbage .

Akuma no riddle can best be described as a waterdowned version of danganronpa or no more heroes. There's a whole lot of potential but not much bite. This can be attributed not the fact this show is based off a manga written by yun Kouga. Loveless is the only other manga I read by her but I can tell there isn't much impact in her writing. Just like how loveless is a shonen ai with barely any romance much less non ambiguously gay characters, akuma no riddle is a action survival series filled with fluff.
The basic premise is that Haru Ichinose is
...
enrolled into this class filled with highly trained assassins and they all want to kill her. Except for the other lead characters, Tokaku. Having show where the Mc must survive multiple assassin attempts with the help of her bodyguard sounds like a really cool set up but the execution ( both figuratively and literally) is where things fall apart. Haru spends most of time being chatty with her would be killers and always acts so surprised when they try to kill her. Anime writers need to understand there's a difference between optimism and plain old stupidity. No rational person would act like this and tokaku calls her out on this multiple times.
There's also the weird fact that each assassin is only allowed one chance to kill Haru and they all just give up after they fail. They're each promised a wish should they win and they all decide to try to kill Haru in the most elaborate ways possible. Plot armor is the only reason why none of them were smart enough to just catch Haru alone and snap her neck. It's like this show is afraid to get too gruesome and just goes for the most passive way possible. I admire tokaku for her no killing stance but she could've still severely crippled those evil girls.
I do admit I found most of The assassins to have interesting backstories and motives. They could've benefited from a longer format to fully flesh out their characters. I don't like how the morality of the characters isn't really addressed and Haru never seems bothered that she surrounded by assassins. There really isn't any justice here. I also love the cinematic feel the soundtrack has. It made me feel like I was watching a movie even though the show would show any thing impressive enough for such music. Overall, akuma no riddle could've been much better in the hands on someone who actually knows how to write an action thriller and didn't just make what felt like an LMN version No more heroes.

For some reason, anime fans tends to flock towards grimdark series that put on the facade of being mature. Akame ga kill could of been a good story if the writer knew how to handle concepts such as morality, world building and proper characterization. There are three big reasons why this manga is an utter failure.
THE LACK OF MORALITY - Given that the main characters are assassin's who kill those they believe to be evil monsters it's only natural this manga would have a gray sense of morals. However, the narrative seems to want readers to believe certain villians
...
aren't as bad as they seem to be even though they really are. Bols is a man who works for the empire by killing hundreds of innocent people and the writer wants you to believe that's endearing since he's doing it for his family. Um no. Nothing can ever justify killing Innocents and the fact his character is treated as tragic is pathetic. Let's not forget kurome who's just as bad as the other villians but gets redeemed since Akame still loves her. You can't have characters do irredeemable things and paint them as sympathetic figures. Morality doesn't work like that.
NO WORLD BUILDING -. It's quite easy to forget this story is set in a fantasy world since barely any attention is drawn to it. The most fundamental part of the fantasy genre is creating an immersive world but this just feels like some generic rpg setting where technology never grows . It's weird how everyone has these high tech weapons and armor yet every other form of technology and architecture is primitive at best. The author may as well have set Akame ga kill during the modern era for all the difference it makes .
POOR CHARACTERIZATION - These characters are about as archetypical as it gets. Akame is the standard emotionless girl, Tatsumi is the standard naive shonen hero who somehow gets girls to fall in love with him and pumpkin is your everyday tsundere. They do nothing to stand out from their archtypes and there are tons of other manga characters who could do their role better. Since the characters are so flat the deaths lose meaning very quickly and the author has a habit of using character deaths just to be dark and edgy.
Overall, Akame ga kill is one of the most overrated series to exist since sword art online which is saying alot. The writer wanted to tell a dark and mature story but instead made a grimdark pile of garbage.

I honestly can't see why this anime garnered so much hate. It's actually pretty engaging and I found the characters to be pretty interesting I like how it feels like a wuxia novel with the story centering on One big journey. Ibuki has a power that really not common at all : he's been cursed by a powerful red dragon and must kill his friends in order to gain great power. It would of been best if he only had to use it once or twice since it can get depressing to see deaths that could of been avoided
...
The music is a fun listen and compliments the action scenes quite well. My biggest complain with this anime is how one of the members of the group is a serial killer and they never find out about it. It annoying to see her continuously kill people and get away with it. Also, this show really could of used a season 2 . It had so much potential but bombed due to immense hate.

It's a shame that this anime turned out to be so disappointing. It had a lot of promise but it really got screwed over. This anime is based off a ten volume light novel series of the same name but fails to provide an adequate adaptation. Even the author of the novels didn't like it !
Mahou sensou has an interesting enough premise : the main character Takashi has a troubled home life and one day he and his friends are put in a war in the magical world. This could of been a great piece of work but the writers wouldn't let that happen. From
...
what I ready from others, the anime tries to adapt 6 volumes of content into 12 episodes. I can't verify this considering how the novels aren't even translated in English and the manga adaption follows the same route as the anime. Compressing the story to 12 episodes really hindered it's performance as the pacing is jumbled . Some episodes are just slow while others felt like more content could of been added.
The characters don't stand out too much and Takashi feels just like yumeji from shakugan no shana ( another light novel anime with an incomplete adaptation ). Maybe the characters got more fleshed out in the light novels, I'll never know. I will admit that the live triangle between Takashi, kurumi and mui was really well done and that's coming from someone who doesn't even care for romance. I felt that whoever did the composition for mahou sensou probably didn't even care for the source material and did some half ass job just to pass time.
In terms of audio and visuals, this anime actually does something impressive. It was animated by madhouse, interestingly since this feels more like a jc staff type of show. The art is always pretty good and the animation is smooth, expecially in the ending song. Oh how I love the ending. It's done by one of my favorite singers, Nano, and it's FANTASTIC ! The combination of wonderful visuals combined with an hard rocking song provides an experience far more enjoyable than the actual anime. Seriously guys, looks up born to be by nano.
I truly feel sorry for the author of the books. I'm sure the light novels had a lot going for it and it sounds like it could work well as an American young adult novel series. Madhouse really took the l with their adaption and just wasted so much potential. It really shows when the last episode end on the worst cliff hanger I've seen yet. Since the light novels will most likely never be fully translated, that annoying cliffhanger will be the only conclusion viewers will ever see.

it's gonna be fun to talk about the ova's for one of my favorite manga. The kuro hane ova's are like a small glimpse of what the air gear anime would have been like it or got the second season it deserves. It's an underrated manga series and could use some more fans. These 3 ova's sum up everything there is to love about the series.
The first episode adapts the chapters concerning the fight between Ikki and Ringo while the two proceeding ones adapts the inorganic net arc. A strong sense of tension and action is ever present and the fights are

quite exhilarating. Viewers who have not read the manga may be confused by the plot I enjoyed it even more when I didn't know what happened next. I watched this anime before marathoning the manga so all those cool scenarios and drama just sparked my creative juices.
My only complaint was with the soundtrack. The few snippets one could hear during the ova was quickly droned out characters talking. It’s a shame cause it sounded like a good score very similar to Go Shiina's style and maybe even the Tekken series. Theres unfortunately no where to listen to the soundtrack since ova series generally don’t release cd’s
Character designer Horiuchi Osamu did a great job bringing the manga’s incredible artwork to life. Character designs are expressive and nicely detailed. This ova also shares the same director as fairy tail and say what you will about the series, shinji ishihara knows how to direct fight scenes. You’ll never see this much violence done with rollarblades anywhere else. Animation felt very crisp and was always a pleasure to look at.
In terms of enjoyment, I would have to say these episodes were perfect. Each features a well-animated battle that gets the heart pumping. It was great seeing some of the best moments from the manga come to life. Depending on how much you know of the series, the story can be enjoyed without reading all of the manga. The voice work was spot on and was even superior to the original dub for them tv anime. The best part is that the end of each ova features a kickass song the band " A flood of circle ." If you're a fan of air gear, you must watch this.
