Hinamatsuri shares a similar premise to Higehiro, where a serious man takes in a young girl, letting her live with him and looking after her while still dealing with the preoccupations of his adult life. Hinamatsuri has some more twists, like the girl being a telepath and the man being a member of the yakuza, but the series stays quite grounded despite these quirks - rather than going off on ridiculous tangents related to these supernatural aspects, the series instead opts to explore topics like homelessness and personas in a mature and deep way. Much like Higehiro, the humor is dry and the feel of the show is overall very seinen/adult-ish while still being heartwarming. Hinamatsuri lacks the romantic aspects of Higehiro, but overall the series has a very similar premise and overall feel. Definitely watch this anime if you want something similar in premise and vibe to Higehiro!

The Helpful Fox Senko-san's premise is similar to Higehiro, though the roles are somewhat reversed between the man and the girl. In Senko-san, a demigod fox appears at the house of a tired salaryman and begins living with him, doing all the chores and pampering him as he learns the joy of living with others. This anime is very relaxing and mimics the cozy feeling of Sayu and Yoshida spending their time together unwinding in the evenings after a hard day of work. The dynamic between the two main characters is a bit different - in Senko-san, the relationship is more one-sided, with the girl being the decided caretaker of the man, while in Higehiro, the relationship is more mutual - Sayu gets Yoshida to take better care of himself, but Yoshida also takes care of Sayu and teaches her about life. The Helpful Fox Senko-san has a more wholesome vibe that is less adult and deep than Higehiro, but the shows are similar in their premises and relaxing vibes. It's a great anime you should check out if you want something similar yet a little different!
