Cliché, but done really well.
It has all the cliché elements/events in a 'shoujo'. The sports day, fireworks festival, etc. But in my opinion, it doesn't get boring. I just love them together.
At first, I thought it's all cute and fluff. But it took a realistic and surprising turn, which I really did not expect. I very rarely/almost never see it turn that way in a shoujo manga before so I'm pleasently surprised. And I liked it. It's somehow very realistic. It shows that love is not all about sweet times, sometimes you may get tired of it but if you really love

Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai

To be honest, I kinda have a love-hate relationship with this manga. It's adorable and cute, but one thing that always puts me off is Hananoi-kun.
He's very suspicious and to some extent, gives of "yandere-ish" vibes. We do get to learn later on how he sort of became like that but it still makes me feel weird. At some point, I feel like rooting for the other guy though I don't want any more drama in this series. Other than that, I really love this story and they're sooo cute! I still enjoy reading it nonetheless. Also, I love Hananoi's blushy face hahah :) Jan 26, 2021

Painfully boring. Unlikeable characters.
The whole time I was watching it, I argued whether I should continue it or not. I find it so uninteresting that I could just stop it right then and there and would even forget that I've ever watched the movie. I decided to give it a try and watched the whole movie anyway. Nothing changed. For some reason, the characters are so dislikeable to me. I couldn't sympathize with the characters or the story at all. Kinda felt like the story is a cheap "dying from illness" story that should make you sob, but failed. Mind you, I could tear up ... Jan 26, 2021
I usually don't read Sports Mangas because it doesn't get me as hyped unlike Animes. But boy, does this manga gets me soooo hyped up. I have zero knowledge of football/soccer and yet it's very easy of understand and not at all confusing. The storyline is interesting, though less humorous unlike other sport animes (Haikyuu!!, for example) but still very well-written. None of the characters are boring at all. I find myself loving all these characters. The art is amazing as well, I never get tired of looking at it. I honestly don't want to recklessly give a 10 but I can't think of any

Amazing. Just amazing, really. I'm not a sports fan and this is my first time watching a sports anime. But I got hooked in this one ever since the first episode. This anime really got me hyped up. I found myself cheering loudly as if I was really in the tournament. The characters are really loveable as well. I got frustating at times but the feeling is really great. I usually prefer mangas over animes, so I mostly stop watching most anime at episode 5 at most. But when it comes to Haikyuu!, I just can't stop watching. It's a really great show.
