Princess Tutu is not your generic mahou shoujo anime. That being said, it is exactly like a mahou shoujo anime in its essence: hope, love, and a pining for the ages. I don't want to spoil for this review, but so much is dependent on the actual story that you really have to watch it to understand exactly why Princess Tutu is beloved by all, even a decade and a half after it first aired. The characters are wonderfully written, progressing with every episode which is a product of a truly well-cared for plot and pacing. The beauty and passion that the producers and animators
...
have for this project shows with the intricately developed dialogue and background stories for every character. There is a twist ending, a twist to those who aren't closely paying attention, but it truly makes everything tie together in a neat little bow. I do have to say one thing though, the ending affects two of my favorite characters, and I wished they had more. However, the somewhat open-epilogue gives more imagination than the writers ever will.

I've been a fan of MGLN for a very long time now. I've watched all three seasons maybe three times each and read a bit of ViVid (though the anime and manga were both very disappointing and obviously 100% fanservice). I'm glad that they went back to their roots to create Reflection and Detonation. However, though i did appreciate the first movie (Reflection) a lot, I have to say that Detonation was kind of unnecessary.
First, the positives. The art was amazing and so was the soundtrack. There is about as many explosions in this movie as you would expect in a Michael Bay movie,
...
so if that's a positive for you then you'll definitely appreciate this one.
Now, for the negatives. Almost everything about the story did not make sense to me as well as the pacing of the whole movie. I don't want to write any spoilers, but you do find out who is the "real" real villain (after you find out that Iris is the villain in Reflection) and you get this whole backstory as to why they became a villain...but the motivation and backstory do not make sense at all? It was quite a REACH honestly for the villain to commit those crimes and whatever plans they had. Like they really didn't have any logical motivation to do what they did. Also, for the matter of pacing, Nanoha doesn't get any of the spotlight in this movie (nor did she in Reflection, but in that movie it was fine since they were trying to set up the new characters and their arcs) but she randomly gets some character development at the very end of the movie for no apparent reason. It just felt so sudden and, again, unnecessary.
What I loved about this entire franchise is the way that they represented and wrote female friendships (or even gay romance if you see that). Their storytelling was always something that astounded me and moved me to tears no matter how many times I've watched the original three seasons. Yet, I am disappointed in this movie and how much of it fell flat. Well, I hope they continue to make more animes in this universe. I'll certainly give them a watch. If only they stopped making ViVid...

Okay, see this is what regained the franchise from the terrible ViVid anime: good action, good plot, amazing animation, and a kick-ass Nanoha. She is the main character, the absolute strongest magician, and you don't sideline her to be the doting mother. She shines best with the spotlight on her, especially when all odd's are against her. I'm also glad they toned down the nudity and the fan-service by a LOT in this movie. Again, in contrast to ViVid which was fan-service to the max.
The villains in this story weren't very compelling. They had okay motives, but I just couldn't connect to them at
...
all. Kyrie and Iris could've been so much more as antagonists but their motives felt flat and their backgrounds too similar to go "Ah-ha! This is unique!" Maybe it's because I've watched too much anime or read too much manga that everything is a trope. Even the big plot-twist was very "meh." Here's to hoping the sequel movie is stronger in terms of story!
Thank you for making this series good again.

Story: 8/10
I would love to begin this review with my personal opinion on the overall story. It is hilarious, it's cute, and it's sometimes boring. It most definitely exaggerates some event in a chapter to the extent where it becomes stale; and these are only the filler chapters mind you. The real and meaty stuff is when the girls' emotions come into play, with Raku's conflicting feelings over which girl he likes most (Chitoge or Onodera). Now those are what make the manga it is.
Art: 10/10
Every chapter you flip through (or click) you are always hit with adorable and gorgeous art of all the
...
characters. Onodera is captured beautifully with her bashfulness; Chitoge is portrayed as the ultimate tsundere and a stunning one at that; Tsugumi is beautiful as a girl and handsome as a girl dressed in the male outfit; and Tachibana is seen as a graceful and straight-forward girl who isn't afraid to speak her feelings. Did I mention they are adorable?
Character: 8/10
Hands-down my FAVORITE girl is Chitoge. She has all those qualities that are compatible with Raku and I just can't see anyone else being with him. I may be biased, but I just don't like Onodera as much. She's a great character, but the way she's so shy all the time and uncertain sometimes makes me want to slap her. Girl, admit your feelings, because you are just going to lose Raku to the others! You might not be the canon girl, but get your stuff together. Tachibana must be the most annoying in the manga. All she does is chase after Raku and annoy Chitoge. She's mostly there for comedy. Tsugumi.. I have no idea why she's still at the school. She has no role whatsoever, and she's just the background girl in his 'harem'. One, I can say for sure, is NOT going to end up with Raku. The only girls that have a chance are Chitoge and Onodera. There is still that mystery girl we all want to find out who they are, but so far she has not made her presence yet. The other characters are insignificant. However, my second favorite character is Ruri because she's just so bad***.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Despite what I said about the filler chapters, all the interactions and the dialogue are enough to send me laughing out loud. the expressions on Raku's face are just hilarious. This is a shounen manga, so comedy has to be present. I wouldn't have the manga any other way.
Overall : 9/10
Last thoughts:
You will not lose anything by reading this, but you will gain something out of it. You treasure what you have and you learn to keep your friends close. They are the ones who get you through thick and thin, and when you are in a fight with one of them, it truly is devastating. Read this manga, you will not regret it.
(That was long)

I am going to admit -and only for this one time- that episode 23 made me silently cry into my pillow.
The way Misaki delivered her speech and her emotions that radiated off of her causing many students to cry... it touched me also. I had been there since the beginning (or I thought I was) and I could understand and know each heartbreak and success all the residents of Sakura Hall had endured.
My first opinion of this anime wasn't a positive one. There were so many animes with female harems that were coming out, I just thought this would be another one.
I was
...
very wrong. The main character was average, but he developed so much through the course of the year. His little harem consisted of a girl who was detached but a prodigy of the arts and a hard-working girl who didn't deserve what she got in the end.
I cannot say how much I loved this anime, but I can say that you too will fall in love with it too.
9.0/10
(-1.0 because of forced drama in some episodes)

Great art, great characters, awesome enjoyment level, and overall score is 10.
The only thing that has a 9 in my almost-perfect review, is story. For some people (unlike me) it's easy to get the story the first time you read it. For some (like me) it's hard and you need to think long and hard about it before it starts making sense. Plus with the chapters coming out once a month, your brain forgets.
However, it is DELIGHTFUL. You can't see anything wrong with Pandora Hearts. It tugs at your heartstrings, it makes everything so...so depressed when you think about the events occurring on Oz
...
and his companions. Without spoiling much, let me say this one thing.
You will NOT regret reading it, because it would be the best choice of your manga -reading life.

This manga is filled with laughs and 'aww' making moments. Every time you see the little kids have fun adventures with everybody at the Babysitting Club, you just want to jump in there and go along with the ride.
You will NOT regret reading it.
Cute toddlers, good-looking teenagers that are affiliated with them, and the heartwarming stories are a must-have.

I cant really lie and say this is an awesome anime with tons of bishies.. I really cant. So here is my opinion. I hate t. The first episode was so cliche I almost died. Seriously? We all know that the first guy that saves the girl is the one true guy for her in the end. The guys are pretty good looking and the only humor that I saw in it was the blue haired boy hitting another guy because he doesnt punch girls. And the girl's persoanlity all acting confused and soft and sweet made me want to barf. If you dont like
...
heriones that annoys you like this one, dont bother watching it. She is as hesitant to accept whatever life throws her way as a kid in a candy store with millions of choices to choose from. If you do like this kind of anime, enjoy. ( not really)
