It's apparent once both get into their theories concerning souls. Both have a great deal of focus on how two souls of completely different people work in unison to achieve common goals. Not to mention, both are funny as hell.

Not terribly similiar in their facades. However, that's what's clever about the two series'. They both have subtle details and philosophical questions that the average viewer won't be able to perceive on their first viewing. Physically, they both focus on chasing after truths that lie beyond a secure womb-like environment. Not to mention some of the brilliant animation that is present in both of them.

Both are set in school settings and revolve around the antics of one absurdly eccentric character (Suzumiya and Sousuke) that somehow force other people into the action. Both are also insanely funny and should be watched generally in one go (it's possible approx. 5-6 hours).

Claymore

Blood+ has some similar elements to Claymore, such as the relationship between a helpless "brother"/"sister" and a cold-blooded killer of the opposite gender, that greatly sways either person's actions during the course of the show. In a sense , it's partially Claymore in reverse, here the purebreds go after the half breeds, but what matches these two up the most would be the high level of action, gore and dark mood that stays overcast most of the time. You'll probably understand once you start watching it.
