Bocchi the Rock!

Bocchi the Rock quite often feels like a tamer and kinder version of Watamote, leaning less into cringe comedy and allowing its main character to develop friendships and grow as a character, yet still having most of its comedy based off the main character's crippling social anxiety and her attempts to overcome it. That being said, if you've ever dealt with social anxiety or similar issues, both of these shows will likely hit close to home quite a bit.

"Cute girls doing cute things", and in both cases the cute things are centered around playing in a music band. Despite the similar premise, Bocchi the Rock is far from being a K-On clone: the two shows are actually fairly different in their characters, atmosphere and execution, and are both great shows in their own right. Still if you liked one of these shows and want more music-based CGDCT anime, then the other is an obvious recommendation.

If you like hilariously bad anime, then both of these will likely satisfy you! Made by the same studio, and both among the 3 lowest-rated anime on MAL, these two anime OVAs are remarkably similar to each other. I especially recommend Skelter+Heaven which made me almost die of laughter, but Mars of Destruction is also a really good watch.

If you like anime that's so bad it becomes really entertaining, then Mars of Destruction and Pupa are for you! Both of them are also pretty short, make no sense, and can provide quite a laugh to deranged souls like me.

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso

Both shows heavily feature classical music (and classical music competitions) and a developing romance between two similar couples of characters with opposite personalities (Kousei & Kaori, Shinichi & Nodame). Both also feature some degree of drama and comedy, though Nodame Cantabile is ultimately more lighthearted.

Both shows are centered around the use of some kind of time travel (such as time loops) by the protagonist to save their loved ones; Re:Zero is basically Steins;Gate in an isekai. Both shows feature some amount of suffering, and they were both animated by studio White Fox.

I'm getting very strong Madoka vibes from Wonder Egg Priority so far. Both are relatively darker psychological magical girl/magical girl-esque shows with a relatively small female-dominated cast (5 main girls in Madoka, 4 so far in Wonder Egg Priority) who get granted powers by mysterious entities. They have similar aesthetics, with both shows featuring surreal worlds and creatures (witches' labyrinths/dream world). Also both are 12-episode-long anime originals.

In addition to both shows being magical girl/magical girl-esque shows with a predominantly female cast, they both deal with themes such as bullying, suicide and trauma, and in both shows, the main girls are granted powers by a mysterious entity with unclear motives. If you liked Mahou Shoujo Site and would like a less edgy/over-the-top approach to its themes, be sure to check out Wonder Egg Priority!
