I'm really happy with what they've done with this movie. This is what I want from Dragon Ball.
I love the sayajin and their story. The movie did a great job with that.
I got a little bored at the end with the never ending fight, but I guess that's what the fans wanted since it got such a high score. I get it, Broly is enraged, he's a berserker. It's a nice fight, but there's not much story to listen to when they are just screaming 30 minutes non stop.

This is a good anime, but I just have the feeling that it could have been so much better.
The characters are very well done and interesting. The art, the music, the story, all very good. The big, colossal problem is how the story is being told. Here's an example of one episode: - Starts with a flash forward - Back to present, explains why it happened ...

This is a warning to anyone who wants to watch this anime. It is a "fantasy new world anime", but do not compare it to SAO, RE:Zero or any other popular anime from this genre. You won't see any power ups or trainings from noob to badass. I would almost compare it to a new world fantasy + Slice of life. A lot of talking between the characters about their feelings. I was not expecting this!
This is what describes best my feelings on this anime. There's a lot of mysteries and we can't learn anything unleast we go deeper in the story. Everything is going so fast. The author doesn't waste time, we're going straight down the abyss, revealing beautiful environements or dreadful obstacles. The characters are absolutely adorable. They all have great personnalities, strenght and flaws. It is absolutely ravaging when anything horrible happens to one of them. I just want to know what's at the end of the abyss, and I'm not even certain if they will make it there! Probably, they will, I really hope, ... |
