Similar plot. Similar anguish. Too soon to make a proper recommendation, just first impressions.

Koutetsujou no Kabaneri
add

The same apocalyptic scenario, the same hybrid main characters fighting against non-humans (titans and Kabanes). Steampunk aesthetics, at some point, is shared as well. The epic and trascendental fight is leading by a group of people trying not only to survive, but to understand the world in which they live. Also remarkable, the great similarity between weapons: Three Dimensional Maneuver Gear (Shingeki no Kyojin) and Tsuranuki Zutsu (Koutetsujou no Kabaneri)

Gangsta.
add

Charisma and darkness, comedy and drama in equal parts. This could be the equation defining Gangsta. and Black Lagoon. Corruption, crime, violence, gangs and guns. Two imaginary places -in fact, with so many allusions and similarities with places that we all recognize– Ergastulum (Gangsta.) and Roanapur (Black Lagoon). These fictional cities apparently ruled by the chaos and destruction associated to crime, will become the scenario of fellowship and loyalty. Even the two "new" characters in that scenarios, Alex (Gangsta.) and Rock (Black Lagoon) share the same inquiring behavior. Although at first they look scared, eventually they will merge with their partners, immersed in the gang life.

Tokyo Ghoul

Ajin
add

The struggle among human beings and "monsters" (ghoul or ajin). Principal characters dealing with a "non-sense" -at first, at least, for them– new identity, running away from danger (actually a prosecution of those who profess a lack of knowledge and fear of what is new) . Both animes depict a steady race for survival and an internal dialogue about what it means to be human.

Boku dake ga Inai Machi
add

Time travelers, butterfly effect, grandfather paradox...Steins; Gates is, above all, an incredible story about friendship. Boku take ga Inai Machi shares the framework, the main idea and goal: change the future from the past. Rintaro –Steins; Gate– and Satoru –Erased–, are in charge of it. The characters share more than it could seem.
