Didn't except much. The creator of manga already proved to be able to create way better story, in the waste-potential Sword Art Online. The anime had few weirder moments, that would never occur in any game ever, but it was still enjoyable experience.

Surprises were well foreshadowed, and most viewers probably would miss them, or not think about foreshadowing too much. It's really nice preparation and execution. The amount of characters once again is so huge, they are all blending together, leaving rather bland mix of generic characters, with few pieces of strong personalities among gags.

Kickstarted anime for the fans of classic shounen stories. Story isn't nothing new, it's predictable and tropey, but fun enough to be enjoyable.

Story 7/10
Story lacks due to the fact it's just inspired by many older classic shounens. The love interest, rival that joins main team, betrayals. Most of those tropes are easy to read and predict, but pacing makes it still quite enjoyable. That's a complete story, without any weird cliffhangers, as was designed from the start, when it reached the kickstarter.

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (3/12 eps)
Story (based on 3 episodes, but I really doubt it'll get better):
It's basically an isekai that skipped all the build up, story, meeting new characters and went with "Oh yes, we did adventuring together in the past", and repeat it every episode...

The setting had some potential for interesting story, but it was wasted on generic isekai story.

Art:
Nothing special, but nothing wrong. It's acceptable, seen better and seen worse. Animation gets choppy in some places, but again it's not worst.

Characters:
Due to "we've met already", the entire character buildup is skipped, so we're left with generic traits.
