While I can say that this is a watchable movie I would also say that I am completely disappointed by the route taken by the author, Akira Toriyama.
I have been a long-lasting fan of Dragon Ball (save for Super which started off fine but somewhere in the middle it lost me and my attention and I kinda stopped caring about it), but this doesn't feel like DB at all - other than the "fights" and the shouting. But the fights are incredibly unbalanced - you can see our protagonists powering up quite clearly for a Broly that apparently didn't even break a sweat - which
...
is completely ridiculous. The power levels are, quite simply, broken. As others have pointed out - also no blood in the fight? Only scuff marks - weird af.
I'm not gonna get into the story too much but it's been heavily revamped and I can't say I like this new version at all.
This Broly looks like a Broly, shouts like a Broly but he ain't Broly - and you can skip this *canon* movie if you dislike meek unoriginal and bad remakes.
The only positive I would say is the animation quality which is a lot higher than in the series and was actually enjoyable to watch. Other than that, quite dreadful.

Here's the thing - It's A Tragedy Melodrama. I was "scammed" by the tags here. I don't wanna rant too much but that's not what I was expecting - if you're looking for a light-hearted story you better skip this one. Other than that, it's good overall, but the story is hectic and characters are kinda 1D most of the time. I'm forced to enter a longer review, I do not understand why, I have said all that I have wanted to say - It's a Tragedy so don't be fooled. It plays on the emotions a bit too much, but if that's what you
...
want, that's what you'll get.

Here's the deal - Haikyuu seems to be one of the many newer sport-based series to appear. Volleyball however isn't really that interesting to depict in a manga - for anime it's so-so for the medium is more appropriate, but it's harder in manga.. Overall it's a good series with one major and few minor problems - the big one being pacing.
What I mean is - I was watching the anime(s) first and when I watched all that was available I continued from the manga (from around chpt 120), and for the remaining 71 chapters (read up to 191 at the time of writing)
...
the story advanced ONLY TWO GAMES.... Awfully slow... One game took about 50 chapters.. A year for a game.. lol.. Had I been waiting for a weekly chapter I probably would have dropped it...
For a more detailed review :
Story - 7/10 - It's good but nothing special/new. Kinda a sports manga/anime stereotype - MC with some qualities tries to improve through trials and tribulations... But too bloody slow, as mentioned above pacing is ridiculous... e.g - a set can take up to 10 (or even more) chapters, yet the following one ends in half a chapter?! WTF? You can't just create such a disparity, a huge battle in one and nothing in the other one, like it doesn't even matter?? And this happens multiple times...
Art - 6/10 - Sometimes it's impressive, other times I'm having great difficulty deciphering who's who in the panel... Also sometimes lacks detail, like it was drawn in a hurry...
Character - 7/10 (barely) - Nothing really spectacular here, characters are really one-dimensional though, very little growth and only for some characters etc - the first years do leave some sort of an impression but the older ones are all bland and uninteresting... Maybe this is 6/10, or even 5? No, there were a few situations when things got interesting, so it gets a 7/10... But don't get your hopes up..
Enjoyment - 7/10 - Well, it's a sport series with some humor and something happening most of the time.. The sometimes bad art and lack of story/character progression does hinder enjoyment quite a bit, but the series overall are still passable - I do recommend the anime more though, much easier to go through, though I doubt it will catch up any time soon...

The synopsis doesn't do this series justice - at all.
Looking for a good story/plot, interesting characters and overall enjoyable series - look elsewhere.
It's simply appalling - a complete waste of time.
The only redeeming feature would be the art which is above average.
I don't really wanna talk in depth about any of the categories, I'll just say the following :
If you have no appreciation for your free time and want to spend it indulging a egoistical talentless author and read a series which will leave a bitter taste in your mouth, confusing you many times along the arduous journey and finally making you feel so angry
...
about it in general - do feel free to read this series, I highly recommend it - otherwise - read something good, like Akumetsu.

Well - here's the deal - I just finished watching this movie five minutes ago and felt that I should write this review while I was still under it's impression.
The premise of the movie is similar to the movie WarGames(1983) but the focus of the story and the execution vary greatly.
As many have mentioned before, the main focus of the movie is FAMILY, and honestly speaking - I would be fine watching this movie even if there was no OZ or the kinda weak MC....
My two favorite characters in this movie are the Grandmother and the Sailor/Fisherman son that tells historic tales of their ancesstors
...
great endeavours.
Strictly speaking, the story isn't really new or refreshing but the POV is.
Art is so-so, kinda bland characters for a movie and the backgrounds aren't drawn that well,
but it's not so bad that it distracts from the rest of the movie.
Sound - well the music fits in well throughout the movie and never did I find myself thinking something unrelated to the movie and the plot - meaning it fits well. :)
Characters - here's where this puppy shines - IMHO the Grandmother is really the grandest character here and the most developed one. The other ones aren't onedimensional, don't get me wrong - they are all well developed it's just that GM is the cherry on the top.:)
Enjoyment - Well, it's a fine movie and you probably won't even notice that it's been two hours, there are just a few places where you might think "Why the f*** is this happening like this/at all" but it's a great experience overall.
PS - I must have misread the summary because I was expecting something completely different when I started watching it, but I still greatly enjoyed it and can warmly reccomend it to anyone looking for a hearthwarming movie with a hint of comedy and drama.

Gintama is a very atypical anime. Sorachi Hideaki did an amazing job writing it and the anime crew did the same kind of outstanding job conveying the gags and emotions to little screens of our tv's and other devices. Not to dwell on his genius itself, I'll instead focus on the anime to-be reviewed.
Story - though some may think it's a superficial show it actually employs a somewhat stereotypical but a very deep and dark, entwining story. What I'm trying to say is that Gintama could as easily be a 52 episode seinen show and that would still be and enjoyable experience as there are
...
no plot holes and there are many things it can focus on if it wanted to... Saying it's plot is shallow is very crude and misinterpreted. For as funny as it can be (which is actually the most difficult emotion to invoke) it can and was on occasions very deep and serious, and I could watch it all, even separated into two shows, that's how amazing it is and how much interesting and unexplored material it has. Though then I would probably have different attitudes towards the characters (if the shows were separated).
Art - The art is ok, sometimes average, sometimes below the average, but I could never argue the quality of the battles, which was, in my opinion, more than good. Even the jokes about the art and money saving/issues are great. Another thing is - for a series such as these, art is rarely, if ever, the most important information medium, so I never complained, even though I gave it only an 8.
Sound - It's amazing, considering that I liked most of the OP/ED tracks and even loved some, and the BGM and ambiental music throughout the series makes the scenes feel complete and really "adds that punch" making it all more effective. Though I've on occasions noticed a bit of overuse of certain tunes, it never bothered me that much to actually feel annoyed.
Character - I'd give it infinite here, but there's just no way to do so. I've seen many a good series (Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass, Trigun, Berserk...) as my AL states (though not up-to-date, nvm), and even though I connected with most of them on a very deep level and felt and troubled with the thoughts they had, Gintoki is my no.1 man (though that may be biased, as I've seen it last). He can be everything, he has character, and feels extremely alive, human, multi-dimensional, complex, intriguing. Of course, the others don't fall behind too much, though Gintoki is mostly the reason I appreciate this show so much.
Enjoyment - From laughing so hard to almost burst my stomach to letting a few tears go (which I rarely do), I've experienced them both, including all the emotions in between while watching Gintama (even anger sometimes, vicariously, through Gintoki/Okita/Hijikata).
Overall - It's an All-In-One that succeeds in everything. So - if you are human, if you have a hearth and a big enough reservoir for laughter, I heartily recommend this series, for it is one of the best I've ever seen.

Akagi is a manga about a youngster that willingly discards his life and safety for a gamble. In general it is a great manga, but some arcs simply seem too drawn out and slow. The art isn't very good meaning that, even though that all the characters look fairly different, you can get confused sometimes (the same thing sometimes happens with the plot). Still - it's a great manga, by my standards much better than Kaiji, therefore I recommend it to all of you who like mystery and gamble/mahjong manga with a lot of seinen elements.

This movie (or OVA, or 3 OVA’s) is a true drama. I really consider it the ultimate Anime Drama I have ever watched. With really a few elements of comedy, some really difficult decisions and a lot of beautiful animation, this is certainly a movie worth watching. The story is great, featuring two childhood friends that try a long-distance relationship, or they just try to try, but it doesn’t work out..:(
The Animation was simply fantastic, and so was the story. Honestly, for me, the saddest part was the outro, the last four minutes of the movie. You could really see his suffering. Although it doesn’t
...
end happily, it’s a true masterpiece, a must watch if you’re in drama anime, and, even if you’re not, still watch it.. You might cry…
There’s not much more left to say… Just go and watch it, the feelings can’t be expressed to words… Simply magnificent! 100/100!

So,did you watch the OVA's and want to keep on reading the manga? Well, you probably won't regret it! :) Oe Kintaro is as cool as ever, even here!
First I'd like to say that I only read the first 65 chapters, because I couldn't find any more in the time of writing this review.
Oe Kintaro - The Super Awesome Part-Timer! :)
There are 2 Golden Boy series : Lesson and Study series. The Lesson series have only 9 or 10 chapters (each one around 30 pages),and they are partially adapted to the OVA (one Lesson chapter = one episode).
Later on,in the Study series, there are more chapters (with an 18
...
page average length and their stories mostly last around 10-15 chapters).
Let's talk about Lesson series first :
Story - 10 - It's just magnificent!Oe is really funny, and hilariously perverted (not in a bad way of course). You will find him falling in love with, and helping many women to get back on the good track of life.
Art - 10 - Well, honestly here,it's just great. It's a old manga, but the character images are the same in every chapter/page,that you'll never find it troubling to recognize a character. The background are also well made, and there are some boobs. :)
Character - 10 - In the beginning you might think of him as a dumb pervert, but you are wrong. The way his character comically progresses trough the lessons, where you can see what he really is like, and what he values the most are the really important things in life.He will make some mistakes, but he will redeem ten times more. With the jobs he gets,he progresses in each way.
Enjoyment - 10 - The Lessons are really fun, specially not being really connected (just a few times the other chapters are mentioned),and you just can't stop reading. His reactions, the reactions of the environment,it's just overwhelming.
As the lessons progress you'll enjoy even more! :)
Overall - 10 - Simply awesome! :)
Now,let's talk about the Study part!
Story - 8 - Although it's still Oe,we'll find some loss of ideas here.He still does things the way he used to,it's just that there are some really unpleasant and freaky moments, and you'll find some of the characters really evil.A few times I found myself looking away because there were some things going on that I didn't want to see/read about.A big minus is also that Oe appears less here,as the new background characters get more pages/chapters for themselves.Still,it's the Golden Boy (although a Golden Girl will appear later, she ain't golden at all.)
Eight might be a bit high of a grade, but it deserves no more or no less than that - still you'll judge for yourself (sometimes you get really annoyed, but mostly you'll just want to keep reading).
Art - 10 - The art here is pretty much the same like in the Lessons, but, you can find a LOT more of boobs, penises and vaginas (censored in a weird way). That's all about art.
Character - 9 - It is still Oe,but, you'll find that his perverted manners have gone out of control here.Even though he's still Golden at the end of each story (around 10 chapters),in between he'll do some really weird things, some of which I approve, and some of which I don't. (SPOILER - He'll even pretend to be a 17 year old girl). He keeps writing things in his notebook, but,he feels a bit different (a bit off.)
Enjoyment - 8 - as mentioned before he'll do some really weird things, and some really perverted characters will appear, and literally do everything their dirty minds can think of.So,it really feels sad/disgusting at some points/chapters/pages.And the extra sex thing - there's really a lot of it in the Study series.
Overall - 9 - 'Nuff said in the previous sections.
Overall for both series :
Story - 9 -
Art - 10 -
Character - 10 -
Enjoyment - 9 -
Overall - 10 -
Because of the great story of the Lessons,I can forgive the LQ story of the Study series. The art is kinda the same.Kintaro has questionable qualities in the Study series, but I forgive him,for in the end (every end,of each chapter, both Lesson and Study) is GOLDEN. :D The enjoyment is a bit spoiled buy the Study series, but it still offers some fresh material and a lot of fun material (though not as much in the Lesson series).
Sorry if it seems illogical while reading,I was kinda tired, and I tried being objective and not revealing too much.
I only wrote this since there were no reviews.
Hope you read it all. If you did - rate it Helpful? ^_^
Kanpai!
Ja ne.
