I personally cannot help but be reminded of the other movie when thinking about one of them. Perhaps it has something to do with both films releasing within the same season and me watching both of them within the same week. Anyhow, if you're into the bittersweet genre and crave romance that involves profoundly heart-wrenching moments, then both of these (+/- 2-hours) anime films are worth seeing!

I am hard-pressed to write out an actual recommendation here; probably doing this more so to present a suggestion to Key fans. There isn't much to say other than both of the series are the same anime in my opinion, just in different clothing. My reason for mentioning Key fans (though this suggestion can be for visual novel fans as well) is that the original stories of both of series started out as visual novels, whether you knew this already or not. It's difficult for these anime series to compare to original content (obviously) and while the visual novels are less convenient to obtain as quickly as loading up an anime streaming site, they will deliver the full "Key" essence and provide much more "feels" respective to each series; especially considering each character has their own "route" (each with a plausible amount of character backstory that adds to the feels) as opposed to the anime adapting to a canon route of which not every anime/VN fan would agree as that route/route's "girl" being the one they'd truly choose.

Psycho-Pass

Aside from being masterpieces of the psychological genre, both series are set in a cyberpunk world and include plenty of thought-provoking philosophical moments and exhilarating action to keep you at the edge of your seat, especially in the later episodes. In short, what truly sets either of these series above the average anime and makes the other absolutely worth watching if you wholeheartedly enjoyed one, is how there is neither black nor white characterization and character morals, in addition to unpredictable plot direction... By the end of the series (particularly in Psycho-Pass imo) you may end up rooting for what you (as the viewer) believe is the best course of action for the respective content's humanity, as opposed to what is "justice" or some commonly accepted ideology. Find out for yourself; enjoy!

Zankyou no Terror

At first glance, these two shows are ultimately similar by content. Upon closer inspection, you'll realize how extreme and unique each show is to itself. There is one huge, huge difference here: while Death Note is obviously fictional and can never occur in the real world (because the show is almost entirely supernatural), something like the setting in Zankyou no Terror truly can occur in our real world, and that could be rather terrifying (no pun intended). Differences aside, if you're into superior-plot level mystery/detective shows, and enjoy the feeling of being "on the edge of your seat," then you will undoubtedly enjoy both series~

Of course, both shows feature a loli detective who works with an assistant(s) to solve mysteries! Some notable differences: Memochou takes place in modern era (Japan) thus we can relate to the technology era that is shown. Gosick takes place in 1924 (Europe) so it's more of a "classical" mystery. Gosick also has more romance. My personal take (these are merely opinions): - Both of the female MCs are cute, although Alice is probably cuter. - Victorique is more overpowered; is able to solve mysteries without technological backup. - Regarding the above statement, I personally enjoyed Gosick more, especially considering it has the much stronger "whodunit?" element. However Memochou is more comparable to our time and easier to watch, depending on viewpoint.. Simply, if you enjoyed one show, chances are you'll enjoy the other~

Both of these animes are like a rollercoaster. First, it seems to progress steadily and introduce many seemingly-positive characters and ideas, then the intense sh*t happens and you have an absolutely amazing and dark, twistiness of a plot that will most likely cause you to binge-watch the rest of the series until you finish and/or your probably boggled mind leads to an explosion of multiple feels all at once, in an outstanding way!
