1) Both kingdoms get over thrown and leaders children Yona/Arslan are on the run 2) Both MCs are weak and fragile but over time learn to fight and develop a stronger character 3) Both are supported and protected by the most powerful fighter/general of their army 4) Both are on the adventure to find more comrades to get their country back 5) Both main casts are kinda immortal. Main group plot armour. 6) Both MCs have unique hair colour 7) Fight for a throne between cousins Differences... actually hard to say. I enjoyed both for what they stood. 1) I guess main difference is that Soo Won does not hate Yona while Hermis will gladly cut Arslan's head off. 2) Soo won and Yona grew up together, Arslan and Hermis never met until the war 3) In Arslan there are also other parties involved in taking over kingdom while in Yona it is more of a Civil War. 4) Soo Won is sneaky and crafty, winning with charm. Hermis is all about brutal revenge. 5) Yona might be a bit more female orientated series unlike Arslan But if you love Adventure genre, you should enjoy both.

add

Both anime have a great animation with a promising plot that gets flushed down the drain. Both series face an extinction caused by a virus, in Kabaneri case virus turns people to zombie. Both series have a bishoujo character gone bad, strong relationship/friendship between two leads. Female being a cause of MCs stronger powers and etc. Differences, different time era. Kabaneri is more bloody. Guilty Crown develops its plot more. If you managed to see redeeming qualities in one, you might in another. Otherwise watch it purely for animation and sound. More of a story and character person? Don't bother with either then.

Love ridiculously over powered MCs? Then these are for you. Both Belle and Kirito are extremely over powered characters who can pretty much dominate anyone with one finger. Don't agree? Watch it till the end. Not to mention ridiculous number of girls they attract by doing nothing. Welcome to never ending harems. Both are set in a game type of environment. SAO is set inside a real game while Dungeon is set in alternative universe that is very similar to RPG game. Main difference, Dungeon has a proper, linear story with some solid character developments unlike SAO that skips years of a story line, completely ignores it's side characters and calls it development. In Dungeon every side character has a purpose. Both are meh in my book, but Dungeon is definitely better. So if you loved SAO, there are high chances you'll like Dungeon as well.

Both MCs discover that humans aren't the on;y intelligent beings in the world and get mixed up with human devouring "monsters". To make things worse, they end up as half hybrids. Not human and not "monster" they need to find a way to fit in and deal with upcoming danger. Kiseijuu is more horror and philosophical while Tokyo Ghoul if more action/shounen based.

Tokyo Ghoul

Shiki is more of a mystery show while Tokyo Ghoul is more action orientated. Shiki focuses at many characters at once while Tokyo Ghoul mostly follows main character Kaneki Ken. However, the main theme is pretty much the same. Both series deal with a conflict between humans and other being that are there to devour us. In Shiki vampires, in Tokyo Ghoul those are ghouls. Both stories start from the perspective of humans being a victim and then eventually we get to see things from "enemies" perspective and then the main question comes: Just who is the real monster here?

For starters both series have girls as leads and who do all the action. Both series have characters fighting each other for this or that reason. Both series have an observer who look over what is happening and push characters against each other. Both have similar type of ending. In both series characters have unique personalities. Both shows are set at school. Both shows have some yuri feels. Differences: Akuma is about assassins while Mai HiME is about normal people, well as normal as you can call them Akuma has a slightly darker feel to it with some blood, Mai HiME is more friendly. Mai HiME also has more comedy elements Mai HiME has more male characters. There are far more similarities and differences but any more and I'll spoil things. Personally I would take Mai HiME over Akuma, any day.

While the story is slightly different, over all it gives pretty much same vibes. You have lots of characters who are either friends or enemies to the MC and have quiet silly personalities. Both series are based in ancient era, full of silly antics and action. The only real difference is a reverse cast. Brave 10 is male dominated, Blade & Soul is female dominated.

Both heroes are hot-headed and only pitch straight balls. Also, both are pretty idiotic. Goro is a massive baseball fan and one of the best players, while Sawamura knows nothing about baseball despite being a pitcher for a while and has to fully build his foundation.

Series are different for many reasons but at the same time they have lots of similarities that I can't deny. Both series are centered around world destiny and its protection. Both have action. Both deal with time travel in one way or another but not at the level like say Steins;Gate. Both have very protective characters. Both series are quiet heavy and depressing. Both series have characters who are ready to do almost anything for another.

Both series are based around two guys who are willing to do anything for one girl. In both series the relation between 3 is very strong to the point that it could to called obsession. Series also have similar feeling to each other. However, Tempest is more action orientated and unlike in Penguindrum whose main heroine is deadly ill, this heroine aka Aika is already dead.

Lots of similarities. For one both MCs can see supernatural stuff that keeps hunting them down. Both MCs try to solve supernatural problems and have someone to guide them and both series are episodic. Main difference is that xXxHolic takes a slightly darker approach and tries to bring some horror factor from time to time.

Despite having cute animation with cute character designs, both series have dark undertones and cover some sad/tragic/dark moments. However, Kotoura is more lighthearted and is not action orientated like Madoka. Though first 10 minutes of Kotoura series are HEAVY and DEPRESSING on Madoka level.

The difference in shows is that in Another we don't know what is happening and why so it has to be investigated. However, in Shiki we know the cause of the deaths from the start and are simply observing everything from the distance, watching how characters will deal with the issue. Other than that, shows are very similar. In both shows people suddenly start to die.In Another people from one class die and in Shiki in one of the villages. In both shows characters try to find the cause and stop it. Both shows start slow but eventually end up in blood bath. Both shows have quiet a lot of under developed characters though in Another it is more eye burning.

Am surprised that no one mentioned it yet. Yes, Major is not about soccer but baseball. However, the main connection lies in main heroes backgrounds. Both of them lose someone very dear to them who were really good at sports they were doing but never reached the dream they wanted. Now it is main heroes jobs to take over that dream and move forward in their sport career.

These shows look very different from an outside and at first you may wonder just what in the world makes them alike but once you go further and look at them from the inside you will see the connection. For starters both shows start with a bit confusing beginning but then we go into flashback mode and we see what had happened and led to such beginning which is making more sense now. Both series are about strong friendship which later got turned into hatred and fight between each other. Both shows have monsters, lots of blood and deaths as well as some romance. The main difference is that shows happen in different timelines and that in Berserk main heroes are males while in Ga-Re Zero those are females. Berserk also has more nudity.

The series give a very similar vibe despite looking different at first sight. However, they are not as different as you think. In both series characters are imprisoned (reformatory and mafia) and have to fight for their survival in those two cruel worlds. Then once out their story does not end there since they still have a lot of problems to face, past won't let them be. Bothe series are dark and about unfairness of this world. If you liked one of the series, you definetly will like the other. However, Rainbow might be a bit more brutal and with bigger emotional impact but Phantom won't let you be uncarrying either. P.S. There is almost no humor in both of them.

For one, none of the series can be taken seriously and they both cover the same time period and have the same characters. However, while Sengoku Basara are action series with comedy, Sengoku Otome are the opposite, it is comedy with action. Also most of the characters have opposite personalities in comparison to each other and in Sengoku Otome the main cast are females. So if you want to see an altarnative version of one of the series, the other would be a perfect choice for that.

Mai HiME are not 100% Magical Girl series since the only thing that transforms are weapons, not outfits. 1) However, we still have girls with powers fighting with monsters and among each other. 2) We have Nagi who is almost like Kyubei, he pushes girls to awakening and constantly keeps watching. He keeps secrets and doesn't give a complete explanation of what will happen if they'll eccept the powers. 3) Natsuki who is similar to Homura by being cold to others and not talking much to them but eventually opening up. 4) At first both series look quiet innocent but eventually they start to become darker and more tragic. 5) Music in both series is done by Kajiura Yuki and doesn't dissapoint, it always tends to build up the mood and get you excited. 6) Both series are anime original stories, with mangas being adapted afterwards and both are succesful.
