The manga has an interesting plot, sounds like it has potential to me.
There's been a bit of a scandal (if you can call Twitter discussions that) surrounding this manga. We don't know about the author's views, and it's hard to judge from just one chapter, but the author may be even more based!
Many people have concluded that the author wants to express the opinion of migrants, but I personally think (so far) that what is going on here is precisely a criticism of American colonialism, and that our American friends should check their privileges 😉
