They are both historical anime set in about the same time period with Japanese mythology as an underlying theme. Inuyasha and the gang are looking for shards of Shikon no Tama, while Hyakkimaru is looking for his missing bodyparts. This leads to an epic journey for both teams.

Donten ni Warau

Have you ever wondered how Donten ni Warau would have turned out, if insted of Orochi, aliens would have been the main antagonists? And what if Donten ni Warau would have been more of a gag anime? Donten ni Warau may then have turned out more like Gintama, since Gintama takes place during the same era as Donten ni Warau, but with another dilemma; aliens invading Edo. The three Kumô brothers are a bit like the Yorozuya of Gintama, as they help people that are in need of help, with Tenka Kumô resembling Gintoki Sakata in a way. They both hide their thoughts and worries behind a lazy or care-free mask, but when it really matters they're there for you and they also care a lot of the people close to them. Gintoki may not show that so often, but it's true. They have both also been part of a special squad. The middle brother Soramaru share some traits with Shinpachi of Yorozuya, as in they both want to become better at swordsmanship in order to protect their family. Both Soramaru and Shinpachi also seem to be the cook of the "family" and are the most serious and responsible members, though Shinpachi often gets ridiculed by the other members of his "family". Chûtarô, the youngest Kumô sibling, and Kagura of Yorozuya both look up to the oldest member of their "family" as some kind of father figure and they also have their own special form of speach. They both also have a kind of naïve personalty. Other characters that have the same role in each anime is the Yamainu Squad of Donten ni Warau and Shinsengumi of Gintama. There are of course differences between them too, like while Gintama have an episodic structure, Donten ni Warau have a story arc it follows, but these are the traits I notice they share and might interest you if you decide to watch Gintama/Donten ni Warau.

After you read these mangas you get an awfully cute feeling in your stomach (and you may even shed some tears). They're so sugar cute both of them! :3 Shimeji-chan (Lovers Doll) and Hiroshi-kun (Konbini-kun) are both beginners at love because of a trauma(s) from past that keep them from opening themselves to others. The knights in shining armour, who save Shimeji-chan and Hiroshi-kun from their past and accepts them for who they are and thus helps them move forward, are Shin-san (Lovers Doll) and Kōhei-kun (Konbini-kun)!

Even though "Lovers Doll" is a yaoi manga and "Shōnen Dolls" is a shōjo manga, there are similarities between them. Like the fact that both mangas have a doll theme and the focus is on the relationship between the master and the doll(s). The affection between master and doll(s) also makes it possible for the dolls to turn into humans in both mangas, though the dolls in "Shōnen Dolls" can only turn into humans during the night. "Lovers Doll" is a yaoi manga but I think even people who usually don't read that genre would find LV cute and enjoyable, because it's not as hard-core as other yaoi mangas! :)

Kamisama Hajimemashita

Even though Inuyasha is a shoonen anime and Kamisama Hajimemashita a shoojo anime there are a few things that they have in common, like: • both heroines have magical powers. • both heroines are in love with the male leads, who both so happens to be yookais (well in Inuyashas case half yookai) and have white hair. • the male leads also always comes to the female protagonists rescue when they're in trouble, even though Nanami can handle some of her problems by herself! • there seems to be the shadow of a past lover in the both animes, though Tomoe didn't remember his st first ... • both male leads wanted to become humnas so they could be with their past lovers, which didn't end so well ... • both female leads had a jewel inside them; Kagome, Shikon no tama and Nanami, Dragon King's eye. There might be even more facts that makes Kamisama Hajimemashita and Inuyasha similiar, but these are all I can come up with now! :)

Both revolve around stealing ... but not for yourself but for others and religion (kind of). Of course there's love and transformation too. A person that want to capture the thief, in Kaito Saint Tail the love interest and in Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne the best friend of the thief.

Both have reverse harem as theme and in both most of the boys have something they're troubled by, like their past for example and the heroine is always there to cheer them up.
