GS Mikami

Sexy, supernaturally powered women with a group of assistants battling various and sundry ghosts and spirits. sometimes against competition. There is a quantum jump in animation between this and GS Mikami. But PQC has a better musical score than GS Mikami does. Despite the fact they came out around the same time, and having seen Phantom Quest Corp. several years beore, I still like Ghost Sweeper Mikami a little bit more. But, if you happen to like attractive self-confident and powerful women going around 'ghost busting' (cough, cough) you will like both of these shows.

Cute girl, romance, rock band, handsome guys and good music. NANA had all that, but Ai Shite Night did it first. . .over 20 years earlier, too. It was kind of revolutionary for its time. I've been wanting to see this show for several years. It was worth the wait!

Both contain two strong female protagonists with a strong bond, are highly skilled for combat fighting (high action), end up fighting against one another, and they're both pretty gory animes. Kagura also closely resembles one of the main female characters in Noir Certain tracks/songs are also similar with the siren-like voices.

Here's another example of 'alternate' universes. Remember the first OVA w' the girls (Graduation) where they promised to stay in touch w/ each other after they moved onto college, or wherever, right? Wistful-type show. well, take the same girls and put them in a screwball magical-girl anime, with mecha, sailor-fuku and more speeches about defense then i saw in the last 2 Presidential debates, and you got Sailor Victory. And they went on to make still another 'universe' (Marriage) which had nothing to do w/ the first two OVA's. OK, you get the point. darn near as many universes as Tenchi Muyo. (don't get me started on them LOL I still like the franchise more for the music, the girls were cute, too

OK, the relationship this show has with Futakoi Alternative is that it is an alternate universe from its original show (Soul Taker for Nurse Witch Komugi-chan and Futakoi for Futakoi Alternative) . Basically, take the same charecters from each show and throw them into an entirely different environment/universe, and watch the hilarity or such ensue. This has been a favorite trope in anime for years (like all the SD/Chiba specials from the 80's and beyond.) Good for a few laughs.

This show reminds me a lot of Colorful, because of the randomness of the plot and the ecchiness ofthe humor. Also, it aired around the same time as Colorful. Makes me wanna go back and rewatch Colorful again. But Nupu Nupu is more WTF than Colorful . so i'd say Nupu Nupu is funnier.

While Excel Saga is shorter and came before Gintama, they both have a sense of randomness and parody in them. Gintama more so due to its no. of episodes. much hilarity ensues.

You have a 'short' guy (shunsuke) in love with a 'tall' girl (Eru), and there is some hilarity due to the height discrepancies between these two. Shunsuke and Eru aren't Otani and Risa, but they have a good relationship.. Lovely Complex plays it for laughs more than Kabocha, but there is a good romance story going on here, and the longer span of Kabocha draws it out more than Love Com, but there is still a lot to like about this show.It won't be for everyone's liking
