Whilst the show tries in earnest to balance the titulation (or as much as you can get away with for an animated IP intended for a teenage male demographic) of its 90s comic book source material with some wholesome family drama that results in some tonal whiplash, it never achieves much success delivering in either. The threadbare world-building, one-note and rote characters, the laughably shallow corporate political intrigue in the backdrop, the clunky and ironically unappealing (again, considering how the source material's infamous reputation for featuring unapologetically "sexy" art) character/monster/Witchblade design does little to make up for these shortcomings.
Overall an incredibly disappointing, uneven show that
