i've seen several poeple around the net calling the MC an asshole or some other shallow and demeaning caricature, they simply didn't understand the point of the story. it's honestly refreshing how 'flawed' the MC is. his faulty actions stemmed forth from a deep feeling of inadequacy, he's not just being a dumbass. he's genuinely afraid of being hated or disliked. over the course of the chapters you can see him opening up and growing as a person with the final act of him coming clean about the whole thing. the point of the story wasn't the coming together of a couple, love story or
