Although the plots are very different (Nana is about a punk band and Cat Street is about students at an alternative school), the ideas are actually very similar. Both are realistic character dramas following a unique group of friends and their bond over time, as they try to discover their passions and follow their dreams. They are very supportive of one another as they struggle with all sorts of personal issuesues. Both stories have very realistic drama that is handled with maturity. Nana is a little darker, but they both maintain a very similar vibe most of the time. And both handle topics such as love, fame, and regret.

...then you might like Kaichou wa Maid-sama! add

Both are romantic comedies about a competitive girl that doesn't realize the boy she's always fighting with is in love with her. Both have a school setting, some funny fight sequences, and even funnier side characters.

If you liked Hotarubi no Mori e add

...then you might like Kon no Ki Konoha add

Both are about a little girl who gets lost in an enchanted forest and meets a spirit that she can't touch. In both, the little girl visits the spirit every day of a particular season year after year as she grows up.
