If you're reading this, I'd dare to assume you're planning to watch this anime or are still deciding whether you should watch it or not.
I'm going to give my opinion, though I'm not a professional reviewer.
Plot
In this (almost) 27 years old anime we are unfolded the history of Akari and her efforts to reach her dream, her goal, achieved previously by her mother. Shy, honest and caring Akari isn't your average op character. You could even say she's mid in terms of power, agility, speed etc. But she makes up for it with her heart. Despite that, she does grow in the anime, both as
...
an athlete and as a character, together with the other participants who inhabit the same dormitory as her. Together they go through mischievous mishappenings, where they redefine friendship, struggling to be better and so on.
In my opinion, the plot was good, but didn't really deliver. Perhaps it's because I'm not into this genre.
Characters
As you can imagine, here we have the usual bunch: The angry, the deceiver, the energetic, the stoic and so on. They do go through personal growth, although it's not very noticeable. The main character doesn't over-occupy the screen, leaving space for the other characters to shine, so that the viewer can get familiar with them. I really liked the designs of the characters, but more than that I loved the voice acting. It's really well done.
Animation
As I previously mentioned, the anime is 27 years old. But despite the age, the art is good. It's not the best, but it gives that nostalgic feeling. Personally, I'm into retro and that's why I mostly watched this. The voice acting got me hooked to it. And that's about it.
Summary
I'd like to say that this show is for you if you're into sport and classical troupe. It's not the best , but it's further from being the worst. Even if you're not, it can be enjoyable.

Hunter X Hunter (2011)
One of the greatest anime ever. "A must-watch" the vast majority of anime watchers say. That's true.
In my opinion it's a little sad if you start out with this and not with the 1999 version, which I like slightly better.
Now, regarding whether you should watch it it or not, yes, you should definitely watch it.
Unfortunately, I don't feel like I enjoyed it to the fullest (I will explain why in the following paragraph/s).
Plot: It's fascinating. In this world, (one of) the highest and the most distinguished professions is "Hunter". Becoming one is an objective next to impossible, with extremely low rates of
...
passing. The main characters start off with that right of the bat and after that are faced with various missions and tasks, meeting new friends, allies and enemies.
Characters: Awesome, great. 10 out of 10. My favorite was Knuckle. Great guy. Almost each of them has their introduction, comparison, damage, reflect and redemption arc. It's really great. Even though they don't have a lot of character development, just barely, enough to be useful to the plot. And here is exactly where I am unsatisfied. The main character, Gon, is so selfish most of the times, so insisting, that he becomes dull after some point (or at least that's what happened with me). He's always causing problems for the others in order to achieve something and after he achieves it, he needs his friends again to clean up after his mess. He is shown to use barely any intellect during the majority of the series.
Animation style: 10 out of 10! What were you expecting?! It's MADHOUSE we are talking about here. They simply nailed it. But personally I would like to see more gruesome images, just to give us that vibe of terror and letting us know that you know mess with life because you don't get a second chance.
I would like also to add that the characters talk a lot. Like, A LOT!!!! In the most epic battle scenes, with the smooth animation and that music that gives you goosebumps, they slow down the action, lower the music and one of the characters starts talking, analyzing and explaining what happened, the next steps they will take, the enemies response and so on. It's infuriating. The end is... not in the end (for me). I consider the real end to be Episode 135.
If you read up to this point, thank you!

It was short and nice and enjoyable throughout it's entirety. Not very unique, but enough to make me write a review.
The voice acting was simply on point. They delivered the best acting they could do.
The plot was... the good old "They are all so amazing, I don't know which one to choose."
The animation was pure art. It really captures the wholesomeness of the plot.
As per the characters, don't expect much. It's hentai. It's just your daily Onee-san and Anata.

Duration: 27 minutes, give it a try rather than scrolling on Instagram.
Don't worry fellas. There is no NTR here.
If you read this far, thank you!

This is my first review, so I guess it will not be very clear, but lets waste no time and get to it.
It's vintage, good animation, good audio and awesome voice actors and it still has a score lower than 7!? That was surprising, honestly.
There isn't much depth to the characters, but hopefully more light will be shed upon them soon. (Yes, it has sequels.)
Yes, the characters are OP, but they blend in really well amongst the others.
Both episodes will get you hooked to them unless you aren't paying attention. Pacing was great.
It can be an enjoyable break from all the modern animes nowadays.
Hopefully this
