What makes this show stands out from other Isekais that I have seen so far, is observing how an online gamer suddenly became a high powered figure in a fictional world with an almost god-like powers. With these immense powers, we see how the main character's understanding of humanity, morality and war tactics.

With the exception of few low quality CG shots, the art style is good overall. The aesthetic of the world feels more like a western RGP game.

The overall story did not progress in this season. There was not any grand goal for the main character to seek out other than understanding the ... world. However, the writing and presented characters were well-rounded and thoughtful.

I am hyped to move into season 2 and see if the show can keep me interested.

For people who are new to Evangelion, this movie can be extremely good. The music, the art, voice acting are all done with a high taste. Characters are iconic with distinguished personalities. However, new viewers will note that the movie has not much of a story to tell. It feels like an introduction to the series. Thankfully, all the movies are out now and you can binge through them.


As for viewers who have already seen Evangelion anime/manga, the movie is still a good experience to have. There are unexpected plot surprises and the dialogue has improved much more. Shinji expresses more emotions ... and reflects more on situations, which is opposite to the dull Shinji we had in the early episodes of the original series. However, I still believe there is potential for more improvements. Hence, I give this movie a solid 8 out of 10.

The original Neon Genesis Evangelion anime (on its own) is a hard show to rate. The production value is high, it has an interesting world-building, and tries its best to make a plot that debates bold concepts on human nature and society. Main cast of characters are distinguishable and easily charming to most of the audience (and the fanart community is a proof of that).

However, the anime falls flat on character development throughout the show. There are no character arcs. It is mostly action and exposition with the character holding on to the same emotions and same problems. The lack of character developments mean you ... don't really feel the struggle in any action scene. This makes the episodes with no story exposition, very forgettable and uninteresting.

I think the show would have been much better if the episodes and characters were explored more and had better showcase of inner struggle from episode to the next, rather than holding all of that back for the direct movie sequel (End of Evangelion).

Attack on Titan is one of the manga turned to anime on recent period. It is an Action anime with focus on tragedy and very dark tone, yet maintaining some Shonen-esque messages such as trust and overcoming fears.

Story:
While the story isn't as rich as other shows in general, it is rather a very fresh take on human tragedy without reusing much of the usual apocalypse elements. There is also much lore in the world to keep creative fans making fanworks and adaptions of the world of Attack on Titan. The thrill element is very high and makes you eager to see what's next.

Keep in mind ... this anime covers only a portion of the manga and stops at the end of an arc. You will have to wait for the 2nd season or continue on in the manga.

Art:
The visuals are extremely unique in style and well done. The value here nearly matches an OVA/Movie feels.

Sound:
People are digging the opening song of the show as well as some soundtracks. However for me it is good but other than the opening, I didn't feel much uniqueness to the soundtracks or specific themes to get attached with. Voice acting is good enough but there is no memorable voice so far.

Characters:
There are lots of variety of characters and they have high appealing. However, in term of design and visual uniqueness, it is very limited since everyone is sticking to his uniform.

Enjoyment:
The action scenes are well done specially nearing the ending of the show.

Overall:
If you are into action, thrill, tragedy and want something that feels new, do not miss this anime.

Berserk is all-time favourite for me. It has raised the Dark Fantasy bar and to this date I haven't really witnessed a Manga (or even movies/animes/games) that did a better job than Berserk in all aspects.

The story follows life of Guts, known and feared in his prime time as the Black Swordsman. Through his footsteps, you will witness friendship, love, passion, tragic, heroism, grittiness and mostly "revenge". It takes this emotions up to a mature level which you will never read in any of those other shonen manga.

The art is extremely well done. Since Berserk started back in 1990 and still going on to the ... date of this review (April 2014), you can see the artist is very devoted in carefully drawing details. The art gets better increasingly as you read.

Regarding enjoyment, you will definitely like some of the characters' lines and fight moves. Unlike mangas like One Piece where every character talks forever, you will find out most of the characters are to the point and they tend to have conversations on feelings, ambitions and struggle rather than some madeup nonsense. And thanks god, panels are really wide and detailed. You're gonna love Guts bashing his Dragonslayer (his iconic weapon) through multiple victims.

Whatever ending comes to Berserk, up to this point I am very pleased with the experience and if you can stand violence, dark themes and nudity then give it a read.

A short manhwa that focus on loss of love and getting over. While the previous tagline sounds very clichéd, the script took a creative approach on the subject of loss and a very interesting one indeed.

Think of this manhwa as a source of inspiration rather than story. I only think this should have been released as a One-shot rather than 7 chapters since there is no big story really. However, if you are into tragedy and looking for something out of ordinary, don't miss this!
